To adjust temperature as the requirement of process curve, an intelligent control system of temperature was designed. In the system, the fuzzy rule was used to adjust parameters of PID controller. Adjusted PID controller was used to control the change of temperature. The system can avoid the disadvantages of common PID, such as, long setting time, wide overshoot, and acquire better control characteristic. It were expatiated that principle and method of control. The hardware structure and the software flow chart were also introduced.

Intelligent control is essential for tower cranes because the safety and work efficiency of construction. Firstly, an intelligent control system using ARM MCU and its auxiliary equipments, human-machine interface and control strategy were designed for tower cranes to realize monitoring and trouble shooting. Secondly, a fuzzy PID controller was adopted for tower crane. In the end, the experiment was made to test the intelligent control system. The test results show that the intelligent control system can achieve the national standard on tower cranes; also, it can save time, increase work efficiency and provide other auxiliary functions; in addition, the fuzzy PID controller is superior to conventional PID in intelligent control for tower cranes; accordingly, the intelligent control system has a promising application in the tower cranes.

A new self-adjusting PID controller based fuzzy inferences is proposed. Using fuzzy inferences method, the PID parameters can be adjusted adaptively online for the varying state of the system. This approach has more significant performance and robustness than conventional PID contorllers in any conditions. Traditional fuzzy control systems have difficulties for plants with great delay.A fuzzy PID system based on the Smith compensation theorem is proposed in the paper.It allows to change the transfer function of the plant.Simulation results are also given.

Since the object model is time-varying and time-delay in the electric boiler temperature control system, Smith Fuzzy PID controller is applied in it. Simulation results in the paper show that the overshoot is reduced by 31.3% compared with the system under Smith PID control and the adjusting time reached a 30% reduction compared with those under Fuzzy PID control with T=380 and τ=110. In order to eliminate the oscillation problem in system when model parameters change, a new Smith Fuzzy PID controller with two degrees of freedom is applied, whose control performance is much better than that of Smith Fuzzy PID.
