In this paper, mathematical model of CNC machine tool’s feed servo system is established, various control methods of feed servo system in CNC machine tool are summarized, simulation models in different control modes are constructed by using MATLAB Simulink tools, also the influence of various control modes on system performance is discussed, some reference for feed servo system performance optimization in CNC machine tool are provided.

Feed servo system is an important part in CNC machine tool. In order to promote CNC machine tools precision, it is particularly important to enhance the control methods research on feed servo system. In this paper, different mathematical models of CNC machine tools feed servo system in different control modes are established, and their transfer functions are obtained, also the corresponding simulation models are constructed by using Simulink tools under MATLAB environment. Through simulating, the relationship between the systems parameters and the performance of servo system are obtained, some reliable theoretical basis can be achieved for improving and enhancing CNC machine tool servo system performance. Therefore some references for the performance optimization of feed servo system in CNC machine tool are provided.

A new method of CNC machine tool servo system fault diagnosis expert system is proposed.We analyse and design the protype structure of CNC machine tool servo system fault diagnosis expert system base on the methods and theories of expert system. Feasible for the establishment of the expert system are described from knowledge base to reasoning model,and we also provide an important basis for the establishment and development of the expert system.

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Torque Motor (PMSTM) has the main characteristics of low speed, high torque, high precision and excellent stability, which can be applied to implement the direct driving technology for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine tool. In this paper, the mathematical model of PMSTM is simply introduced, and the various control strategies are discussed in detail. According to the requirement of high performance for PMSTM driving servo system in CNC machine tool, the corresponding suitable control method is employed in the feed servo system. The proposed scheme is also promoted to apply in the spindle system, the tool holder and the turntable of machine tool.

Base on optimization configuration of servo motor and motor modules. The servo encoder module, power module, PPU, drive system and accessories, controller of CNC machine tool is reasonable selected. In this paper, take a vertical machining center for example, the whole machine's servo system is selected, based on this instance, the method of selection is introduced. Through test analysis of measured data, rationality and feasibility of the method about servo motor and motor module’s optimized configuration is proved.

Obtaining the condition monitoring signals by rule and line is the base of distinguishing accurately the machine tool condition. In the paper, the three schemes of obtaining machine tool condition signals are researched, which are build-in sensor, external sensor and servo drivers monitoring interface. The three schemes are all reliable signal sources, however, the quality and difficulty level to obtaining of signals are different. In the paper, the three schemes are compared and analyzed. It is important for researching the condition monitoring technology of CNC machine tool servo system and improving machine tools reliability and machining quality.
