More and more countries are focusing on the lack of resources with the consumption of large quantities of fossil energy. The Chinese government is actively promoting the policies related to the transformation of the energy structure which will increase the proportion of clean energy consumption and reduce the proportion of fossil energy consumption in order to relieve the pressure on domestic energy. Interest in the generation of biogas from agricultural residues is increasing rapidly due to its climate benefits. This article is committed to analysis the economic performance of the biogas cogeneration energy supply system of livestock and poultry breeding plants in southern China. The model of the biogas cogeneration energy supply system of livestock and poultry breeding plants in southern China and the advices to the government will also been proposed as a result. According to the results, biogas cogeneration system is feasible in economy with reasonable device configuration and operating strategy.

Analysis of Long-Term Plan for Energy Supply System for Latvia that is 100% Based on the Use of Local Energy Resources The prices of fossil energy resources are expected to rise substantially in the future, therefore fossil energy resources might not be a feasible energy source for Latvia in the long term. The establishment of a fully self-sufficient energy supply system will require a significant transformation of the existing energy supply and transport infrastructure. Early planning of such a system makes it possible to shape development of the existing energy system in order to achieve that goal of a fully self-sufficient energy supply system. The paper shows a potential solution to establish an energy and transport system solely based on the domestic primary resources by the year 2050.

In 2017, the German legislator adopted a law that provides for the digitisation of the energy sector. The dissertation deals with legal issues raised by the provisions, especially those rules concerning the equipment of consumers with smart meters. Besides regulatory issues, the author examines the legitimacy of the proposed obligatory equipment. The main thesis of the dissertation is that the justification of interventions in the rights of market players presupposes that consumers can use smart meters sensibly. Today, this is not the case, since smart grids and intelligent electricity markets are lacking. The dissertation determines that profound changes in the energy industry are necessary for smart meters to support the integration of renewable energies into the energy supply system.

AbstractThe economic feasibility of the use of agricultural biomass in the energy supply system of Ukraine is investigated in the article. It has been determined that biomass of agricultural origin (cereal straw and rapeseed, by-products of corn for grain and sunflower, sunflower husk) remains the main component of biomass energy potential in Ukraine. It is established that the bioenergy potential of agricultural biomass is an efficient and affordable additional source of energy supply for Ukraine. According to the research, the potential of the bioenergy market was attributed to the great potential of biomass, the large stock of unused land that could be used for growing energy crops from the marketing side, it is also important to note the low competition in the industry. However, imperfect state policy on bioenergy development, outdated equipment, uncoordinated rules for selling electricity from biomass in the electricity market – all this suggests that the industry needs increased investment, borrowing experience from European countries for further development. It is proved that the political and economic situation in the country remains very difficult and unpredictable not only for the bioenergy industry, but for the country as a whole.

This study releases a fact that the national energy supply system could extend its spatial bordering as the demands for the fuels, especially oil and gas, increased and the structure of energy supply diversified. It is, therefore, that a coordinated energy supply would be a key issue for national energy security, not only because an uneven distribution of mineral resources of both a country and the whole world but also the changeable environments for national energy supply itself. The case study of Chinese snowstorm in 2008 just proved it, and to say nothing of the recent Japan's nuclear crisis.
