Several polycarboxylate superplasticizers (PCs) with different side-chain structure have been synthesized. The effect of side-chain structure of PCs on hydration of C3A has been investigated by XRD, TG-DSC and SEM. The results show that PCs restrain hydration of C3A as a whole, but accelerate formation of Al(OH)3 and C3AH6; with increase molecular weight of long-side-chain, hydration of C3A is slowed, and the formation of Al (OH)3 and C2AH8 also become slowed. With increase proportion of long-side-chain, hydration of C3A and formation of C3AH6 are slowed, but existence of C2AH8 become obvious. The six-party flake hydrated products of C3AH6 are formed with a large number of grafted carboxyl.

The effect of side-chain structure of PCs on hydration of C3A has been investigated by XRD, TG-DSC and SEM. The results show that PCs restrain hydration of C3A as a whole, but accelerate the transformation from C2AH8 to Al (OH) 3 and C3AH6; for structure of the PCs, the bigger molecular weight of long-side-chain of PCs is advantage to restrain hydration of C3A. And it also is better to formation of six-party flake hydrated products. But the little molecular weight of long-side-chain of PCs tends to form the cube-shaped hydrated products.

Cement paste and concrete with different molecular weight of side-chain of polycarboxylic acid type water reducer (PC) and retarder has been researched. In this way, the method of adjusting the molecular weight of side-chain and complexing retarder to hold fluidity has been discussed. The results show that with increase molecular weight of side-chain, the dispersibility and holding dispersibility increases. With retarder and PC, the dispersibility and holding dispersibility of PC with big more molecular weight of side-chain increases and the loss of fluidity at 1h prominence reduces. But it relates to breed of cement. Especially at low ratio of water and cement, when molecular weight of side-chain is more than 2000, complexing PC and retarder can improve the fluidity and holding fluidity.

Abstract Polycarboxylate superplasticizer is synthesised by different acid to ether ratio, which is changing the main chain structure parameters, obtained different microstructures. The effect of different microstructure PCE superplasticizer on the fluidity of cement paste, rheological thixotropy, adsorption capacity and hydration heat are studied. The results show that dispersing performance in cement with acid to ether ratio of 3.5 is the best, the molecular weight and side chain density have rather little effect on the cement hydration process.

The influence of fly ash content, water-cement ratio, sand ratio and polycarboxylic acid type water-reducer dosage on the early-strength and performance of C50 concrete is investigated combined with engineering application. The concrete mixture ratio is optimized by the orthogonal experimental design. Concrete strength, slump and slump loss are verified by experiments. Application results show the designed concrete mixture ratio reaches the expected requirements

SummaryUrokinase (UK) could be purified to apparent homogeneity starting from crude urine by sequential adsorption and elution of the enzyme to gelatine-Sepharose and agmatine-Sepharose followed by gel filtration on Sephadex G-150. The purified product exhibited characteristics of the high molecular weight urokinase (HMW-UK) but did contain two distinct entities, one of which exhibited a two chain structure as reported for the HMW-UK while the other one exhibited an apparent single chain structure. The purification described is rapid and simple and results in an enzyme with probably no major alterations. Yields are high enough to obtain purified enzymes for characterization of UK from individual donors.

The rheological characteristics of melts of polyarylsulphone sulphides of domestic grades were investigated in the temperature range 240–360°C. Full curves of heat stability were obtained, and formulae were proposed for their description. Polyarylsulphone sulphides (PSPSs) are heat-resistant polymers of structural designation of the polysulphone (PSP) class, the domestic production technology of which was developed at OAO “Institut plastmass”, which makes it possible to carry out the production of a wide grade range of PSP of different polymer chain structure and molecular weight. The main problem in the processing of PSPSs is their high melt viscosity and fairly low flow. Increase in the processing temperature lowers their melt viscosity, but there is then the danger of thermooxidative degradation of the polymer and consequently of deterioration in the service characteristics and appearance of articles. The aim of this work was to investigate the rheological characteristics and to obtain the full curve of heat stability for domestic grades of PSPSs and PSP of different molecular weight in a wide processing temperature range.

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate)copolymer [P(3HB-co-4HB)] is a kind of biodegradable high molecular polymer produced by bioaccumulation. Because of the good biodegradability and biocompatibility, P(3HB-co-4HB)s have attracted wide attention . At first, the intrinsic viscosity[η] in good solvent of P(3HB-co-4HB) s with varying contents of 4HB was investigated in different temperature. Second, observed the changes of crystallization gathered state caused by the varying contents of 4HB by polarizing microscope. The results show that to the P(3HB-co-4HB)s in same molecular weight, the intrinsic viscosity[η] in good solvent barely changes when the mole fractions of 4HB increase. On the other hand, the mean square end to end distances[0] of macromolecular flexible chains increase with the mole fractions of 4HB. At the same time, the states of aggregation change from spherulites to dendrites. In this investigation, we discuss the reasons of the differences in depth.
