In this analysis, effects of viscous dissipation and thermal radiation on an electrically conducting boundary layer flow, heat and mass transfer of a fluid through a porous medium over a stretching sheet in the presence of heat source/sink is considered. The symmetry groups admitted by the corresponding boundary value problem are obtained by using symmetric transformations. These transformations are used to convert the partial differential equations of the governing equations into self-similar non-linear ordinary differential equations. These transformed ODEs are solved by employing Runge-Kutta fourth order with shooting method. Numerical results obtained for different thermo-physical parameters characterizes the flow phenomena are drawn graphically and effects of various physical parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are discussed. Numerical computation for skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also obtained and presented in Tables.

A numerical analysis was performed for the mathematical model of boundary layer flow of Casson nanofluids. Heat and mass transfer were analyzed for an incompressible electrically conducting fluid with viscous dissipations and chemical reaction past a stretching sheet. An appropriate set of similarity transformations were used to transform the governing partial differential equations (PDEs) into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The resulting system of ODEs is solved numerically by using shooting method. A detailed discussion on the effects of various physical parameters and heat transfer characteristics was also included.

The steady boundary layer magnetohydrodynamic stagnation- point flow past a stretching sheet through porous media in the presence of heat source /sink has been studied. Dissipative effects such as viscous, Joule and Darcy dissipation are also considered in the present study. The governing nonlinear coupled partial differential equations are modified into self-similar ordinary differential equations by appropriate similarity transformations and then the transmuted equations are numerically solved by Runge-Kutta fourth order method. Particular importance of pertinent physical parameters of interest which cover velocity ratio parameter, magnetic parameter, porous matrix, Prandtl number, Eckert number, temperature index parameter and heat source parameter. The outcomes acquired for velocity, temperature and skin friction has been displayed in tables and graphs. For the verification of the present outcomes with the earlier published results in a particular case is also presented and it is found that the present result is in good agreement.

The influence of radiation on magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) boundary layer flow over an exponentially stretching sheet embedded in a thermally stratified porous medium in the presence of heat source and suction/blowing was investigated. Similarity transformation was used to convert the governing equations from partial differential equations into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations. Solving numerically, we used shooting method along with fourth order Runge-Kutta technique to obtained numerical values. The effects of the obtained numerical values of the dimensionless parameters on skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number, velocity profile and temperature profile are illustrated in table and graphs plotted using MATLAB. Comparison of the velocity profile with previously published work was presented and found to be in good agreement.

The effects of variable viscosity and thermal conductivity on MHD heat transfer flow of viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid near stagnation point flow on non-conducting stretching sheet in presence of uniform transfer magnetic field with heat source/sink and viscous dissipation has been analyzed. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using a special form of Lie group transformations and then solved using Fourth order Runge-Kutta Method. Effects of different physical parameters on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are analyzed. Variations of different parameters on skin fiction coefficient-f??(0) and temperature gradient ???(0) are presented in tabular form.

The present paper is to investigate the effect of linear thermal stratification in stable stationary ambient fluid on steady MHD convective flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid along a Stretching sheet in the presence of mass transfer and Magnetic effect. The governing equations of continuity, momentum, energy and species are transformed into ordinary differential equations using local similarity transformation. The resulting coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations are solved using Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with shooting technique. The velocity, temperature and concentration distributions are discussed numerically and presented through graphs. The numerical values of skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood Number at the plate are derived, discussed numerically for various values of physical parameters and presented through Tables.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jname.v10i2.16400

An attempt has been made to study the heat and mass transfer effect in a boundary layer MHD flow of an electrically conducting viscous fluid subject to transverse magnetic field on an exponentially stretching sheet through porous medium. The effect of thermal radiation and heat source/sink has also been discussed in this paper. The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then solved numerically using a fourth-order Runge-Kutta method with a shooting technique. Graphical results are displayed for nondimensional velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles while numerical values of the skin friction local Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented in tabular form for various values of parameters controlling the flow system.

This paper investigated the problem of hydromagnetic boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a dusty fluid over a stretching sheet through a porous medium. The velocity slip was considered instead of the no-slip condition at the boundary. The governing partial equations were reduced into a set of non-linear ordinary differential equations by using the suitable similarity transformation. The transformed equations were numerically integrated using bvp4c in Matlab. The effects of various physical parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles of both phases, such as fluid-particle interaction parameter, magnetic parameter, mass concentration parameter, porosity parameter and Prandtl number were obtained and analyzed through several plots. Useful discussions were carried out with the help of plotted graphs and tables. Under the limiting cases, the obtained numerical results were compared and found to be in good agreement with previously published results.

The boundary layer flow of ferrofluid over a stretching sheet with heat source is considered. It is assumed that the magnetic field is sufficiently strong enough to saturate the ferrofluid and the variation of magnetization with temperature can be approximated by a linear function of temperature difference. The boundary layer approximation is used and the transformed governing differential equations are solved using the Shooting technique based on Runge - Kutta Fehlberg and Newton Raphson methods. The effects of various parameters on velocity profiles and wall heat transfer are presented graphically. The results have possible industrial applications in liquid based systems involving stretchable materials.

This study investigates the effects of viscous dissipation and a heat source or sink on the magneto-hydrodynamic laminar boundary layer flow of a Jeffrey fluid past a vertical plate. The governing boundary layer non-linear partial differential equations are reduced to non-linear ordinary differential equations using suitable similarity transformations. The resulting system of dimensionless differential equations is then solved numerically using the bivariate spectral quasi-linearisation method. The effects of some physical parameters that include the Schmidt number, Eckert number, radiation parameter, magnetic field parameter, heat generation parameter, and the ratio of relaxation to retardation times on the velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles are presented graphically. Additionally, the influence of some physical parameters on the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number, and the local Sherwood number are displayed in tabular form.

In this study, we numerically investigate the hydromagnetic three dimensional flow of a radiating Maxwell fluid over a stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium with heat source/sink, first ordered chemical reaction and Soret effect. The corresponding boundary layer equations are reduced into set of non-linear ordinary differential equations by means of similarity transformations. The resulting coupled non-linear equations are solved numerically by employing boundary value problem default solver in MATLAB bvp4c package. The obtained results are presented and discussed through graphs and tables. It is noticed that the Deborah number reduces the velocity fields and improves the temperature and concentration fields.
