New method of synthesis of biocompatible, biodegradable and nontoxic composite materials based on polysaccharide chitosan and inorganic phosphate component will be presented in this work. Materials structure was changed by in situ transformation of phosphate phases. Transformation of initial precursors to hydroxyapatite as one of the most stable phosphate phase occurred as a result of thermal and alkaline treatment. XRD and SEM methods were applied to investigate structure and morphology of obtained samples.

Silver nanoparticles were immobilized on fibers to create composite materials. The composites are shown to be efficient heterogeneous catalyst with very good recyclability. These composite materials are also proven to be good SERS substrates.

The composite materials features and characteristic defects in the obtaining apertures by machining are considered. A new method for forming apertures in fibrous polymer composite materials is proposed. The optimal shape of a tool for piercing holes is determined. The profiles of the pointed part of the tool are compared using numerical modeling.
