Varying external and internal factors are motivating changes in how physicians and nurses deliver patient care within health-care institutions. A care delivery system that has received increasing attention in the literature is case management. This chapter describes how a community hospital implemented case management for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary angioplasty and cardiac catheterization while developing the new role of clinical manager to serve in the role of case manager. The process for planning and implementing such a role change is discussed, and initial evaluative data are presented

Abstract Children are the forerunner of the birth of the next generation that will determine the fate of the nation. Today many children do not get what they are entitled to. That way, the frequent occurrence of violence against children that occurs both in schools, homes, and in public places is more attention to protect children from acts of violence, both physical, psychological and sexual violence. This is the background to understanding the role of social workers in mentoring children victims of sexual violence in LK3 "Melati". This study uses qualitative methods that are descriptive. The results of this study prove that LK3 social workers "Melati" provide assistance by consulting client cases and then referring to relevant institutions. So that the stages of mentoring are carried out using case management stages. The method applied by LK3 social worker "Melati" is casework and case management methods. Of the seven roles of social workers according to Zastrow, social workers at LK3 "Melati" use the role of a case manager in psychosocial assistance to children victims of sexual violence.

This article will provide the reader with an overview of the concept of case management as it is used by the neonatal nurse practitioner in a neonatal intensive care unit. The role of the neonatal nurse practitioner as a case manager will be compared and contrasted to the roles of the primary nurse and staff nurse. The collaborative role with physicians will be described. Future directions for neonatal case management also will be addressed

The added value of Disability Case Management in occupational reintegration The added value of Disability Case Management in occupational reintegration E. Tijtgat, M. Verjans, P. Vlerick & K. Bruyninx, Gedrag & Organisatie, volume 22, November 2009, nr. 4, pp. 392-410. The present field study investigates perceptions of employees and other related actors regarding the role of the Disability Case Manager (DCM) in occupational reintegration routes. The qualitative results of 43 cases show the added value of the DCM through its role in translating the legal framework into concrete reintegration advices, in stimulating collaboration within the network, and in synchronizing employees' competences and work demands. However, there is no consensus about the importance of these roles. Limitations and implications of the results are discussed.

Complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) are increasing in frequency due to the rapid advances in interventional cardiology. This has had a favorable impact on patients with extensive coronary artery disease and multiple comorbidities with regard to symptomatic relief and mortality. With this increase, cardiologists must develop a standardized way to approach complex PCI in an era in which angiographic guidance alone yields suboptimal results. Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) has been shown to improve outcomes with better preprocedural planning, improved stent placement, and larger stent diameters. Considering the supportive data, the use of IVUS is crucial in all cases of complex PCI.

In 2018, there were several studies that significantly added to the field of interventional cardiology. Research was focused on understanding the role of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in various clinical syndromes, optimizing outcomes for high-risk lesion subsets, and building an evidence base for greater adoption of PCI guided by physiology and intracoronary imaging. In the area of innovation, novel and iterative developments in drug-eluting stents (DES) and scaffold platforms were compared with current generation DES. This article summarizes the research from last year which has had the most impact on PCI techniques and clinical care.
