Schwann cell tumors are rare group of benign neoplasms that origin form peripheral nerves. 0,1%-1,5% develops in the larynx causing hoarseness, difficulty with swallowing and dyspnea. Treatment of the choice is surgical resection of the tumor during open type surgery or endoscopic procedure. Chosen surgical technique depends on tumor localization, size observed in clinical examination and imaging. Also, clinical manifestation of the disease is included in decision making process.

Abstract Purpose of Review The aim of this case report was to illustrate the clinical procedure integrating augmented reality (AR) for complex patient cases requiring full mouth rehabilitation. Recent Findings The introduction of AR technology to the fields of medicine and dentistry has led to numerous applications in education, surgery, and esthetics. Recently, a new AR software was introduced in esthetic dentistry which allows for real-time smile projection and thus improves communication with patients and the dental laboratory. Summary The presented case shows a patient with multiple missing teeth, diastemata, and an impaired masticatory and phonetic ability. After reconstruction of the posterior zone, the AR software was used for the conception of the esthetic zone, integrating the patient into the decision-making process. The result was an esthetic rehabilitation applying palatal and buccal veneers which corresponded to the chosen AR design. The patient appreciated the opportunity to pre-visualize a possible final outcome in an interactive way which increased his confidence in the chosen treatment. Further studies are needed to assess the precision and reproducibility of the described protocol.

Successful pregnancies and deliveries are rare in women over 40 years of age. To date, no case report has been published about a successful delivery in a woman over 40 years of age using vitrified oocytes obtained through social egg freezing from a woman over 40 years of age. Here we report a case of a successful live birth from a 44-year-old woman using vitrified oocytes taken from the woman at 41 years of age; the patient used the technique for social reasons. The 44-year-old patient delivered a 2534 g female infant by Caesarean section in the 37th week of pregnancy. The female infant’s Apgar scores were 9 at 1 min and 9 at 5 min. The female infant exhibited no anomalies and is developing normally under the close surveillance of pediatricians. However, the concept of social egg freezing has medical, ethical and social problems. Furthermore, the rate of live births differs among clinics and/or hospitals due to variations in the vitrification and warming techniques used. Therefore, information from individual clinics and/or hospitals about the risks, the rates of successful live births and the cost of social egg freezing should be provided to patients to aid in the patient’s decision-making process.

The purpose of this article is to outline a decision-making process and highlight which portions of the augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) evaluation process deserve special attention when deciding which features are required for a communication system in order to provide optimal benefit for the user. The clinician then will be able to use a feature-match approach as part of the decision-making process to determine whether mobile technology or a dedicated device is the best choice for communication. The term mobile technology will be used to describe off-the-shelf, commercially available, tablet-style devices like an iPhone®, iPod Touch®, iPad®, and Android® or Windows® tablet.
