Training and practice in bronchoscopy. A national survey in Italy. N. Facciolongo, R. Piro, F. Menzella, M. Lusuardi, M. Salio, L. Lazzari Agli, M. Patelli. Background and Aim. Bronchoscopy is performed in a variety of different settings in Italy. The surveys conducted so far have highlighted the heterogeneity of the procedures and the frequent inability to adhere to the guidelines. The aim of this survey was to analyse procedures, training, and opinions of Italian respiratory physicians performing interventional bronchology in the clinical practice. Methods. The study was conducted retrospectively on 300 pulmonologists. From January to June 2008, these were invited to participate in an email survey to be sent out monthly to each participant for four consecutive months. Results. Two hundred and one respiratory physicians took part in the study, most of whom (83.5%) work in either Pulmonology or Interventional Pulmonology Units. The year before the survey, 21.2% of the participants had performed fewer than 100 examinations, 42.3% 100 to 300, and 36.6% more than 300 bronchoscopies; 53.9% were familiar with the international guidelines on the topic. Among the responders, 34.1% had received less than 6 months training, 55.3% considered further training in rigid bronchoscopy, laser procedures and thoracoscopy, invaluable for their professional activity. Adequate training for transbronchial needle aspirates, was reported by 49.6% of respondents. Conclusions. Our data show that interventional bronchoscopy procedures are regularly performed according to current recommendations by over half of the Italian Pulmonologists participating in our survey. The need for more comprehensive basic education and training was put forward by the majority of physicians.

The relevance of the article is due to the European integration aspirations of Ukraine and the prospects of joining its security forces, including the National Guard of Ukraine, to the NATO. So, the formation of language competence in modern conditions is an integral part of the officer’s professional development and training. Theoretical analysis of scientific sources on the language competence development in servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine revealed that this problem has not been studied and needs additional research. The essence of the language competence in the NGU officer is revealed as a personal integrative formation, which allows the specialist (an officer) effectively to communicate in foreign language, to achieve positive results in his professional activity. It is studied that the requirements of the NATO STANAG-6001, as well as various aspects of the NGU's professional activity should be taken into account when developing the language competence in NGU officers.

Abstract: This article presents a study on management and leadership skills of education managers (principals, vice principals) of high schools in Vietnam in the current time. By clarifying theories of skills and leadership skills, alongside with empricial study to explore the performance of these skills of the principals and vice principals from high schools. Research results have made specific contributions to the development of training programs for managers to contribute to the overall renovation of basic education and training to meet the needs of society.

A leader must have a good competence to successfully bring the organization for its intended purpose. If a led organization is engaged in education field, of course a leader must also have a competence that qualified both skill, science, and experience in the field of education. However, related to that, it also found some problems about leadership, namely the leader is less exemplary discipline, less competent in the field, less provide guidance, less coordination and unable to make their own decisions. Based on the above things, this study aims to find out how the leadership in the field of basic education (DIKDAS) is, what factors affect the leadership in the field of basic education (DIKDAS), and what effort are being made to improve the leadership in the field of basic education (DIKDAS) at Dinas Pendidikan Balangan district. The location of research is at the office of Dinas Pendidikan Balangan district. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a qualitative description type. Data collection technique used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The source of data is amounted to 14 people. After the data collected, then analyzed through 3 stages, namely data editing, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusion. The result of the research indicate that the leadership in the field of basic education (DIKDAS) has not been entirely good. This can be seen from the side of responsibility that is less independent as a leader and does not have the desire to excel. On the other hand, the leader in the field of basic education (DIKDAS) is considered to have capacity in the from of intelligence, speech and judgment ability. From the aspect of achievement is an appropriate bachelor degree and a quite estensive knowledge. From the aspect of responsibility is a quite good initiative, diligent, tenacious, and confident. From the aspect of participation, that is active, have high sociability, cooperative, and able to adjust. The factors that influence leadership are the expertise and employee loyalty to leader, education and training experience, and the leader’s intelligence. Then, the effort to improve the leadership is delegation of tasks to subordinates, the approach by the leadership to subordinates and training as well as discussion. The suggestions to improve the leadership in the field of basic education (DIKDAS) are the leaders need to be a motivator for subordinates, have the attitude of independence, one of them is able to make their own decisions that precarious, and have the desire to excel in order to spur achievement. Abstract Purpose People living with and beyond cancer often experience nutrition-related issues and should receive appropriate advice on nutrition that is consistent and evidence based. The aim of this study was to investigate current practice for the provision of nutritional care by healthcare professionals (HCPs) from a UK national survey produced by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Cancer and Nutrition Collaboration. Methods An online survey sent to professional groups and networks included questions on discussing nutrition, providing information, awareness of guidelines, confidence in providing nutritional advice, training and strategies for improving nutritional management. Results There were 610 HCPs who responded including nurses (31%), dietitians (25%), doctors (31%) and speech and language therapists (9%). The majority of HCPs discusses nutrition (94%) and provides information on nutrition (77%). However, only 39% of HCPs reported being aware of nutritional guidelines, and just 20% were completely confident in providing nutritional advice. Awareness of guidelines varied between the different professional groups with most but not all dietitians reporting the greatest awareness of guidelines and GPs the least (p = 0.001). Those HCPs with a greater awareness of guidelines had received training (p = 0.001) and were more likely to report complete confidence in providing nutritional advice (p = 0.001). Conclusion Whilst HCPs discuss nutrition with cancer patients and may provide information, many lack an awareness of guidelines and confidence in providing nutritional advice. To ensure consistency of practice and improvements in patient care, there is scope for enhancing the provision of appropriate nutrition education and training.
