Inclusive capitalism is a hot topic and for the right reasons. It has been the focus of discussions both in academic and development circles around the world. “The role that business plays in society, and the expectations about the role it should play, has shifted dramatically in recent years. Called to a higher purpose, or sensing that externalities can only be ignored at their peril, many businesses are increasingly open to the notion that they have a responsibility for creating more inclusive economic systems” (Tufano et al. 2016). This statement is an indicator of rigorous research being carried out on the capital and social impact of global business. This chapter highlights the work of the best thinkers and primary players in the world of global business and economics.

Political and epistemic authorities in the global governance system often restrain the freedom of constituent members and therefore need to be justified with reference to the impartial pursuit of a shared social purpose. An international authority must therefore develop a convincing legitimation narrative and display a sense of impartiality to be seen as legitimate. The thrust of the argument in this chapter is that the legitimacy of the global governance system is structurally precarious. Two legitimation problems can be identified: a technocratic bias in the justification of authority and the lack of impartiality in the exercise of authority. International institutions often have authority, but lack sufficient legitimacy beliefs.

This chapter looks to the future of teaching realism with Web 2.0 technologies. After discussing the ways in which technologies of data modeling can reveal patterns for interpretation, the chapter examines how these technologies can update the social-reform agenda of realism as exemplified by William Dean Howells’s attempted intervention into the Haymarket Riot in 1886. The advent of Web 2.0 techologies offers students a way to harness the genre’s sense of social purpose to knowledge-sharing mechanisms to create a vehicle for political consciousness-raising in real time. The result is “Realism 2.0,” a realism that enables readers to engage in their world, which is less text-centric than it was for previous writers.

Abstract Objective Advancing social purpose in organizations is usually studied from the macro perspective, i.e., how it benefits organizational business goals or society more broadly. In this paper, we focus on social purpose from the perspective of the employee and propose that advancing social purpose in an organization allows individuals to fulfil an important human need for the meaning of work (MW). This study’s objective was to assess whether a volunteering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in a manufacturing company allows employees to fulfil their basic psychological needs for relatedness, competence, and autonomy. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with 15 employees and an analysis of artifacts. Results In the analysis, three main themes describing different aspects of voluntary work at the company were identified. We found that across all groups of interviewed employees the voluntary activities served the needs of (1) relatedness, (2) competence, and (3) autonomy. We conclude that CSR programs have the most positive impact on MW when they allow employees to engage in prosocial actions and satisfy those needs.

Kindergartens have educational, preventive medical and social purpose. Their effective operations give substantial support to parents and families in their important role, i.e. care, raising and upbringing of children. Apart from that, they represent a solid reference for encouraging potential parents to procreate and thereby contribute to accomplishing goals of the national population policy in a country where depopulation is a reality. This paper represents an attempt to solve the unsolvable issue pertaining to possibilities of Novi Sad private kindergartens in supporting a family in fulfilling its pro-natal function. .

The problem of the personal self-regulation and state of mind functioning are extremely relevant in the modern context. Ukraine’s reform contributions, which sometimes have a total and demonstrative nature, do not have enough constructive influence on the functioning of the individual, both in its internal dimensions of reality, and the implementation of its own professional work and stay in the professional environment. The article presents the results of research on the problem of frustration, describes the specifics of personal self-regulation and its types, based on the existing ability to understand the frustration, on the indicators of social and personal frustration. The frustration study was done in the context of its theoretical foundation and an empirical study of its state on a sample of adults. This gave grounds to establish multifunctional nature of frustration. It is about its specificity as a component of professional activity (activity context) and professional environment (interpersonal context). The necessity to prevent frustration in a professional team has been convincingly proved. It was determined that the object of the prevention should be reflection as a psychological mechanism of the awareness formation of the frustration by personality and the ability to establish its influence on professional activity and professional implementation in a professional environment. Along with this, the uncertainty, as a result of social frustration, and personal frustration, as the interdependence between the motivation of the individual, its relation to one’s own needs and desires and, as a consequence, the ability to search for one’s own social purpose.
