Smart home is an emerging technology which is growing continuously now. It integrates many of the new technologies with the help of home networking for improving human’s quality and standard of living, so there are many projects which are researching in diverse technologies in order to apply them to the smart home system. As the technology evolves it comforts mankind with some additional ease and advancement. At the time the evolution calls upon all the daily routine devices to operate over internet and this project is based on the idea to make these devices accessible to the owner anytime anywhere. Particularly for now we intend to connect electrical appliances in any house to a kind of a local area network so that it can be operated by the respective authorities so as to minimize the electricity wastage. Further these devices along with sensors can be made to operate on their own, intelligently and accurately. The excellency of the project can be utilized in hostels and classrooms as well where most of the times we find electrical appliances operational even when not necessary. The idea is to turn a house into a smart house. The project utilizes the current technology such as wifi and low cost electronic modules to meet the requirements of IOT and gives it a web as well as an app interface for an ease of access. The technologies which we are using include - Wifi module, Relay module, Raspberry pi, Sensors for automatic support and feedback to user. The project can be extended to cloud also for data storage and providing access to authorized user.

This study aims to design a LAN network for data backup systems that are in accordance with certain aspects such as the selection of network design, network hardware, network transmission media, network connection devices, and network operating systems. Data is the most important thing for everyone, data can usually be reused even though it has not been used for some time, and therefore data storage is a serious problem that must be considered. Data on the server computer is very important to be maintained so that a backup process is needed on that data to another computer that is used as a backup in the event of damage to the hardware and software of the server computer. FTP is one of the solutions to the problems faced above, where FTP can be used to process the download and upload between the server and client computers. This design uses the Autobot system. The expected benefit in designing this LAN is that the existing network at SMP Negeri 6 Pekanbaru is not only used by employees and employees but can be used and enjoyed by teachers and students to access the internet anywhere as long as it is still within the scope of the SMP Negeri 6 area Pekanbaru.

The goal of this study was to create the Local Area Network Based Archiving System, a cross-platform development system for electronic information storage, security, preservation, and retention. The system incorporates capabilities such as data storage for long-term preservation and retrieval, file searching and retrieval, security features such as user account information system and account access privilege levels, and an email-like messaging system. The researchers developed the Local Area Network Based Archiving System using the Agile Software Development Methodology to keep up with the stakeholders' ever-changing needs. After each iteration of the work cycle, this methodology employs a process of frequent feedback. Features are added or refined in each iteration to ensure that the study meets its goals and expectations. The developed system received an overall average weighted mean of 4.53 in the evaluation summary, which is considered excellent. The strongest point of the system, according to the respondents' responses, was its content, which received the highest average mean among the five major categories in the system evaluation. The system's mobile responsiveness was a huge plus, as it considerably aided accessibility. The system should also be deployed, according to the respondents, because it will provide a powerful answer to the ongoing challenges with storing, managing, securing, and retrieving electronic files. As a result, the researchers concluded that a Local Area Network Based Archiving System is required for the efficient operation of an electronic  file storage system. Having centralized electronic file storage and retrieval system not only saves time and money in the long run but also allows for disaster recovery and business continuity.

Data is a very important need for an Education institute, one of them is SMK Persatuan Ummat Islam. Because data is an important asset that must be protected and protected by its security. For this reason, a media is needed that can store data that are important and valuable assets so that they are guaranteed security and maintenance. Data processing is connected to the local area network (LAN) of SMK Persatuan Ummat Islam. Storage media with good and reliable performance will certainly greatly assist agencies for data storage in improving information access services at educational institutions. It is very important to secure data from the server so that it is necessary to backup the data by adding software or hardware as a backup server computer. To be guaranteed the data backup process periodically requires an application that can backup data automatically from the server or client. NAS4Free is a server with a Linux-based operating system that is very specialized to handle data storage centrally, so that it becomes one of the very good solutions to be implemented, because by using one media as a center of data storage can reduce the risk of data loss or data damage. And can restore (restore) data if the computer is damaged. So that the hope can facilitate the work of educators and education staff in improving services in educational institutions using data backup in ensuring the security and maintenance of data which are important and valuable assets

This study presents the development of a wireless, interactive, educational (WISE) game that incorporates the use of smartphones for reviewing lessons that might suit the standards of the Philippine government’s education department. It is easier today to engage students using digital platforms for education using interactive digital games. In this study, the users can play the game by connecting the smartphones to the prototype through wireless local area network. It consists of two types of cards: power cards which contribute excitement to the game, and question cards which contain questions to be answered by the players. The prototype is an integration of the following components: Raspberry Pi 3B, RFID reader and cards, and speakers. A graphical user interface where the players interact with the game was created using scripting languages, such as PHP, and JavaScript. The project was evaluated by different grade school students of Metro Manila, Philippines. The results of users’ evaluation show that the prototype is accessible and effective for use based on functionality and that the project can also serve as a tool for lesson reviews. Future development of WISE game includes its integration and compatibility to different operating systems with larger databases and accessibility.

This article outlines a case study in which the author employs a Raspberry Pi 3 miniature computer as a Digital Signage System, which can be managed from either laptop, smartphone or desktop computers. The author presents it as a case study that high school students (and their teachers) can follow, as a collaborative project that delivers a cost effective and flexible, digital signage system for their school. While it does not require any coding on their part, it presents an excellent use of ICT, by configuring multiple interrelated hardware and open software, in a school community setting, that would fit in with many contemporary digital technology curriculums.

Location of appropriate seats in seating areas of theaters remains a significant challenge that patrons of these enterprises face. There is therefore, the need for seat occupancy monitoring system to provide readily accessible seat occupancy information to clients and management of these halls. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low cost seat occupancy detection and display system which is capable of monitoring seat occupancy in halls efficiently.  The system uses capacitive seat sensors which is designed based on the loading mode technology. It detects the presence of a human occupant using a single electrode. Occupancy data is relayed to a WiFi-enabled microcontroller unit which processes the data and wirelessly transfers the processed data to a central base station over a local area network for graphical and numerical display. Commands are also transferred from the base station to the microcontroller units when needed. Theoretical and empirical results show that the system is able to achieve seat occupancy monitoring accurately, neatly and cost effectively. Keywords: Capacitive sensing, seat occupancy, sensor cluster, microstrip transmission line, Wi-Fi
