Fibroepithelial polyps are rare benign tumours of the glans penis; there are only a few reported cases. The pathogenesis is unknown. However, they have been linked with chronic condom catheter use or prior penile surgery. We report a case of a 62-year-old man with a large fibroepithelial polyp of the glans penis of 11 years duration, which was not associated with condom catheter use or prior surgery. The mass was large, measuring 7 × 5 × 3 cm. Fibroepithelial polyps have been reported in a range of genitourinary sites in males and females, adults and children, and in rare cases may be associated with malignant transformation. They should be considered in the differential diagnosis of both cutaneous and mucosal genitourinary lesions.

Fibroepithelial polyps are benign tumors of mesodermal origin that usually arise on the surface of the skin and to a lesser extent in the urinary tract; however, their presence on the penis is extremely unusual. We report the case of a 73-year-old male with an extremely large broad-based penile fibroepithelial polyp (FEP) involving the penile shaft and glans penis associated with chronic condom catheter use and that was treated with partial penectomy. A review of the literature is included to highlight the rarity of this case. To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest mass of its kind to be reported on the penis.

Fibroepithelial polyps of the ureter are rare non-epithelial benign tumours with a slight female predominance. They are primarily located in the upper left ureter, incidentally diagnosed in patients who are evaluated for gross haematuria or renal colic. Fibroepithelial polyps are traditionally managed by open surgery with resection of the polyp and its stalk or partial resection of the ureter. We describe the case of a fibroepithelial polyp located in the distal right ureter, which occurred in a 42-year-old man with lower urinary tract symptoms, haematuria and flank pain. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of ureteral fibroepithelial polyp acting as a lead point for ureteral intussusception and to protruding periodically into the bladder cavity, which was successfully resected by ureteroscopic electrocauterisation with good outcome.

Renal leiomyomas are rare benign tumours of the kidney originating from muscle cells. They are usually found by an autopsy, whether the patient is asymptomatic or has symptoms (i.e., abdominal/flank pain, hematuria, palpable mass). Today the widespread use of ultrasonography and computed tomography has increased the detection of clinically asymptomatic renal leiomyomas. The differential diagnosis between leiomyomas and other malignant lesions (above all renal cell carcinoma or leiomyosarcoma) is still possible by histological examination. Radiological examinations are not sufficient for the differential diagnosis. Renal leiomyomas have no aggressive behaviour and they usually do not metastasize. The prognosis, after surgery, is excellent without recurrence. We report a case of leiomyoma in a 31-year-old man who presented hematuria and flank pain. We also review the literature and provide a summary of clinical, radiological and histological features of renal leiomyomas.

Acrochordon , commonly called skin tag or fibroepithelial polyp is a benign mesenchymal lesion which is usually hyperpigmented and appears as surface nodule or papilloma on healthy skin. Most acrochordons vary in size from 2-5 mm in diameter, although larger acrochordons up to 5 cm in diameter are sometimes evident. The most frequent localizations are the neck and the axilla, but any skin fold including groin may be affected. Genital presentation in females has a greater predilection for the vulvovaginal region as compared to cervix. Diagnosis is mainly based on histopathology which is necessary not only to rule out malignancy but also to differentiate from other lesions like angiomyxoma which mimics fibroepithelial polyps. The case report is rarest of its kind with regard to its size as the polyp measured 20x16x12 cm and weighed approximately 3 kilograms. Thus, it becomes one of the largest acrochordons reported ever.NJDVL Vol. 13, No. 1, 2015 Page: 70-72

Thymic cysts are unusual neck masses in adults and children and are rarely differentiated from other neck masses by physical examination. This is a case report of a thymic cyst producing airway obstruction in a neonate. The embryogenesis and differential diagnosis of thymic cysts are reviewed.

A 78 year old man was admitted to our urology polyclinic with painless penile mass. The lesion was 3,5 cm in size on the ventral aspect of the penis.  He had  been using a pad for urinary incontinance for ten  months  but he said he had the lesion increasing in size for past 3 months. He underwent a wide local excision under local anesthesia. The histopathologic diagnosis was fibroepithelial polyp. A fibroepithelial polyp of the penis is very rare and  strongly linked to long-term condom catheter use. We present a case of fibroepithelial polyp of the glans   which is not associated with condom catheter use.
