A field experiment was carried out to study the influence of different levels of humic acid (10, 20, 30 kg ha-1) and inorganic N fertilizer viz., 100 % of recommended dose and 75 % of recommended dose on chemical properties of soil under direct sown rice at Agricultural college farm, Bapatla during 2019. The experiment was laid out in RBD with ten treatments replicated thrice with BPT-5204 variety of rice as test crop. Soil samples collected at tillering, panicle initiation and harvest stages of crop were analyzed for chemical properties like available N, P2O5, K2O, Sulphur and cationic micro-nutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu). Results indicated that increased availability of N, P2O5, K2O, Sulphur and cationic micro-nutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu) were observed with the treatment T6 involving 100% RDN and HA @ 30 kg ha-1.

ABSTRACT The development of technologies to increase stand establishment efficiency and seed vigor, as well as to maximize profits, is of fundamental importance for the sustainability of agriculture. Products based on humic substances, such as humic acids, have been recently used in Brazilian agriculture to produce seedlings with high vigor, which positively influences the establishment of the initial stand. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of treatment of corn seeds with a commercial humic acid-based product, Humykos® (18% of humic acid content), on germination and seedling vigor. The treatments consisted of six doses (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 mL 100 kg-1 seed) of Humykos®, and the treated seeds were analyzed for germination and vigor (first count, emergence, emergence speed index, length, and dry mass of shoots and roots). Our results show that humic acid promotes greater seedling growth and increased shoot dry mass in corn; in addition, it has a positive influence on the emergence speed index up to a dose 158 mL 100 kg -1 seeds.

The present investigation was conducted on different genotypes of aonla to assess the variability in physico- chemical properties of fruits. These plants were planted in the campus of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, U.P. The experiment was arranged in randomized block design with 12 treatments and 4 replications. The observations recorded during experiment showed that genotype 6 and 7 were found most superior, in terms of physico-chemical properties of fruits. The maximum pulp content (88.25%), pulp: stone ratio (8.24) and ascorbic acid content (679.25 mg/ 100g) was recorded in genotype 7. Whereas, highest TSS (12.18%), lowest acidity (1.80%) and maximum sugar (3.50%, 2.50% and 6.0% reducing, non-reducing and total sugar respectively) was found in genotype 6.
