This work aims to study the effect of a nucleating agent on cement hydration. Firstly, the C-S-H crystal nucleation early strength agent (CNA) is prepared. Then, the effects of CNA on cement hydration mechanism, early strength enhancement effect, C-S-H content, 28-days hydration degree and 28-days fractal dimension of hydration products are studied by hydration kinetics calculation, resistivity test, BET specific surface area test and quantitative analysis of backscattered electron (BSE) images, respectively. The results show that CNA significantly improves the hydration degree of cement mixture, which is better than triethanolamine (TEA). CNA shortens the beginning time of the induction period by 49.3 min and the end time of the cement hydration acceleration period by 105.1 min than the blank sample. CNA increases the fractal dimension of hydration products, while TEA decreases the fractal dimension. CNA significantly improves the early strength of cement mortars; the 1-day and 3-days strength of cement mortars with CNA are more than the 3-days and 7-days strength of the blank sample. These results will provide a reference for the practical application of the C-S-H nucleating agent.

Abstract: Based on the cement hydration kinetics model proposed by R.Berliner, taking into account the factors such as each chemical phase of minerals, curing temperature, water-cement ratio, the final hydration degree and fineness of cement, a theoretical hydration kinetics equations was established in this paper. It can be used to predict the hydration rate and the change of hydration degree.

The commedia dell'arte is a type of improvised acting based around the masked stock characters of the merchant, lawyer and servant, whose earliest names were Magnifico, il Dottore and Zanni (Plate I). From 1571 onwards, it was spread throughout Europe by visiting troupes of professional Italian actors, whose members, activities and travels are, for the most part, well-documented. The way in which it reached Bavaria is less clear. Records, including three festival books, suggest that already as early as February 1568, when crown Prince Wilhelm married Princess Renée of Lorraine in Munich, the commedia dell'arte was an established and popular feature of Bavarian court festivities, to which it contributed in three contexts. Some of its costumes were used in masquerades; the Venetian Magnifico, or merchant, and his servant Zanni (the servant-master pair who became the central comic focus of the commedia dell'arte) appeared as masked clowns on several occasions, and on 8 March 1568 there was a full-length play whose description in Massimo Troiano's festival book is generally acknowledged as the earliest known comprehensive description of a complete commedia dell'arte performance.

Abstract:Religion and ideology are two interesting terms to be discussed and researched. Both of the terms were able to give an ideal purpose of life which is desirable by every human being. Both of religion and ideology were able to give comprehensive description about the ideal-things which is intended by the human being to look for the happiness of life. Both of religion and ideology have properly arranged the way to achieve the ideal-condition even needed serious struggle to realize it. Moreover, both of religion and ideology have also given inner satisfaction and strength to their followers. Religion and ideology can be illustrated as both side of coin which is interrelated. Ideology can be as religion because of its power which is able to make available of the ideal way (solution) for its followers. Concrete deterioration is one of the most concern matters in construction world. The concrete deterioration such as efflorescence should not be ignored. The efflorescence is a deposit salts, usually white, formed on a surface of concrete. The efflorescence is not a major problem that leads to structural defects but it can build unattractiveness to the structure such as brick wall and concrete mortar. The way to prevent the efflorescence occurrence is by studying the results of testing such as absorption and efflorescence itself to reduce the efflorescence. The non-modified cement system can reduce the efflorescence but cannot avoid it because of the reaction of cement hydration itself. This study is to prove that by using a modified cement system such as Pulverized Fly Ash (PFA) and Polymers (water based latex grade 29Y46), the efflorescence of the mortar can be prevented. The results from this study proved the modified mortar which is a sample with PFA and Polymers has higher strength, durability, and less efflorescence compared with the non-modified cement system.
