This paper substantiates why it is necessary to limit the dynamic loads in stand shafts when closing angular gaps. The paper is a feasibility study of a concept developed specifically to limit each of the factors that affect amplitude of the dynamic torque; limitations applied are determined on a case-by-case basis. The research team studied the components of elastic torque in a dual-mass electromechanical system of Mill 5000 caused by vibrations arising from the elasticity of transmission as well as from the vibrations caused by elastic collision itself. It is shown that the lowest possible pre-acceleration is necessary for decreasing the dynamic coefficient at a near-nominal load torque. A principle of limiting dynamic loads when closing an angular gap is proposed, which implies collecting tachograms of an electric drive subjected to positive or negative acceleration before and after the fed metal is captured. The research team has developed drive control principles to implement this approach. The recommendation is to upgrade the electric drives of the reversing stand in Mill 5000.

An analysis of the influence of mechanical processes of metal milling on the accuracy of machining by a working body (a table with a workpiece) when the feed is controlled by a software program through a series of electric drives is an important problem. A review of literature revealed a lack of works on the estimation of force pulsations in the cutting zone during milling and their effect on the feed drive movement. To solve this problem, the authors of the article developed a mathematical model of the milling process that took into account two degrees of freedom, using which a simulation model was obtained to study pulsations of the force in the cutting zone in magnitude and direction. The study showed that during milling, especially with cylindrical and face mills, the amplitude of force pulsations in the cutting zone can reach 50% relative to the average value. The study of the influence of the milling parameters on the relative movement of the working body and the cutter made it possible to establish a relationship between the rotational speed of the cutter, feed per tooth and positioning error, as well as the error due to the characteristics of the feed drive. Expressions of the load torque fluctuations of the output shafts of the electric drives and the fluctuations of their rotation speeds caused by force pulsations were obtained.

To solve the problem of reduction of suspension force of permanent magnet system with variable magnetic flux path control, according to the structure of the system, suspension principle of the permanent magnet system with variable magnetic flux path control and the generation principle of the load torque, the influence of the mechanical structure of the system on the suspension force is analyzed by changing part of parameters of the system structure. The results show that the existence of magnetic isolation plate is the main reason for the decrease of suspension force, the permanent magnet ring can be thickened to 11.91 mm, the annular gap can be reduced to 1 mm, thickness of the “F” shaped magnetizer can be increased to 9 mm to increase the suspension force.
