The subject of this research is such a means of harmonization of composition of the image in a plane as the contrast. The article assesses the possibility and factors of using contrast for increasing the attractiveness of the designed photographic image. The author reviews the examples of photo images with appropriate use of contrast; provides the research data on the perception[WU1]  of contrast by human visual system.; explores correlation between contrast and the conditions for a harmonious composition; as well as reviews the connection between the properties of compositional elements of photography and the components of visual perception, discovered by R. Barthes in his work “Camera Lucida”. The author carries out the analysis of photographic images; compares the empirical data on the study of perception of contrast by a human; applies the methods of induction and deduction in analyzing the acquitted results and comparing them with the characteristics of a harmonious composition. The author’s special contribution consists in comparison of the results of empirical research of perception of contrast by a human in the context of dependence of the sensitivity of human visual system on the size of observable alternating contrast lines and the size of the dominant in relation to the image field object of composition. It is proposed to use high contrasts of the elements of detail drawing for reaching harmonization of composition of the designed image elements.  [WU1]

Visual attention is one of the most important mechanisms deployed in the human visual system (HVS) to reduce the amount of information that our brain needs to process. An increasing amount of efforts has been dedicated to the study of visual attention, and this chapter proposes to clarify the advances achieved in computational modeling of visual attention. First the concepts of visual attention, including the links between visual salience and visual importance, are detailed. The main characteristics of the HVS involved in the process of visual perception are also explained. Next we focus on eye-tracking, because of its role in the evaluation of the performance of the models. A complete state of the art in computational modeling of visual attention is then presented. The research works that extend some visual attention models to 3D by taking into account of the impact of depth perception are finally explained and compared.

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of holographic human perception in the analysis of the architectural environment. Includes aspects of perspective-tonal perception of visual factors of holographic scanning of the human visual system. Aimed at understanding and reproducing the features and nuances of vision, in the context of summary analysis and reproduction of the system of energy flows in the elements of visual perception. The holographic factor of perception of reality is based on the difference between the work of the right and left eye, with the peculiarity of the angular adjustment of vision to the object of observation. The horizon line or the height of the perception of volumes, as well as the position of the spaces of the architectural environment remain dominant.

The article surveys the data of experimental studies in which the corneal reflex was used in the analysis of the visual perception process. Visual perception largely depends on the physiological characteristics of the human visual system, both individual and general. Blinking performs a number of functions, one of which is protection, including protection from unpleasant or undesired information. Blinking is closely related to the processes of concentration and disinterest. Blinking while watching a video is synchronized in single person and in a group of people watching the same video fragment. Blinking synchronization depends on the video plot; background video does not cause synchronization. Blinking synchronization is not gender specified. A longer duration of blinking is associated with a significant increase of the intervals between blinks. Accounting for these features of visual perception will allow to coordinate the work with video in several ways. First of all, it is an analysis of the reaction by monitoring the blinks while watching the video. Such analysis should contain a detailed and comprehensive decoding including electrophysiological, psychological and psychophysiological tools. Thus, the analysis of visual perception by studying the corneal reflex components requires an interdisciplinary approach and should be targeted to getting the results usable both for further studies of psychological features and principles of human visual perception and for further creation of most effectively perceived video.

The subject of the research is the degree of influence of Sunni and Shi’ism on political processes in Arab countries. The object of the research is Islam as the legal basis of the state. The authors examine in detail such aspects of the topic as the historical analysis of the origin of Islam, the reasons for the division of Islam into Sunnis and Shiites, a comparative analysis of the two branches of Islam, the peculiarities of the legal schools of Islam, the interaction of Sunnis and Shiites with state power. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of interpretations (kalams) of the Qur’an and Sunnah. The study is fundamental and is aimed at the historical and political analysis of Islam in the XXI century. The relevance of this topic is confirmed by numerous studies of the described problems. The main conclusions of the study are that one of the key problems in the Arab states is the issue of the origin of power, which remains relevant even in the XXI century. The authors’ special contribution to the study of the topic is the hypothesis that the radicalism of Islam is associated with its short history in comparison with Christianity. Thus, Islam in the XXI century. is still at an active stage of formation, which leads to the emergence of Islamic terrorist organizations. The novelty of this scientific study lies in the consideration of historical processes in the political discourse of the XXI century.
