Job satisfaction is an important factor for employees working in formal and informal sector. The job is small or big, permanent or temporary, risky or non-risky, job satisfaction is important. It is the mental feeling which drives the employees to excel. Job satisfaction is a combination of psychological, physiological and environmental circumstances. A satisfied employee is a contented and happy human being. The labour turnover depends upon job satisfaction. Even highly paid employees quit the job when they are not satisfied with the job. Road transportation in Tamilnadu is growing day by day. Job stress in the road transportation is very high due to increase in number of vehicle playing on the road and heavy traffic. The drivers and conductors working in public transport corporation are suffering from high job stress. If drivers and conductors are not satisfied with their job which leads to mental stresses and affects the productivity and also creates accidents. In this present study the researchers made an attempt to study the level of job satisfaction among the drivers and conductors who are working in the Tamilnadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The study reveals the expectations of drivers and conductors working in TNSTC with regards to the attributes like salary, promotion and fringe benefits etc., are satisfactory and not detrimental.

Nowadays, the human error is usually identified as the conclusive cause of investigations in road accidents. The human although is the person in control of vehicle until the moment of crash but it has to be understood that the human is under continued impact by various factors including road environment, vehicle and human's state, abilities and conduct. The current advances in design of vehicle and roads have been intended to provide drivers with extra comfort with less physical and mental efforts, whereas the fatigue imposed on driver is just being transformed from over-load fatigue to under-load fatigue and boredom. A representational model to illustrate the relationships between design and condition of vehicle and road as well as driver's condition and state on fatigue and the human error leading to accidents has been developed. Thereafter, the stochastic mathematical models based on time-dependent failure rates were developed to make prediction on the road transportation reliability and failure probabilities due to each cause (vehicle, road environment, human due to fatigue, and human due to non fatigue factors). Furthermore, the supportive assessment methodology and models to assess and predict the failure rates of driver due to each category of causes were developed and proposed.

Waste heat recovery via Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC)-based power units represents one of the most promising solutions to counteract the effects of CO2 emissions on climate change. Nevertheless, several aspects are still limiting its development on the on-the-road transportation sector. Among these aspects, the significant variations of the conditions of the hot source (exhaust gases) are a crucial point. Therefore, the components of the ORC-based unit operate far from the design point if the main operating parameters of the plant are not suitably controlled. The maximum pressure of the cycle is one of the most important variables to be controlled for the importance it has on the effectiveness of the recovery and on safety of operation. In this paper, a wide experimental and theoretical activity was performed in order to define the operating parameters that mostly affect the maximum pressure of the recovery unit. The results showed that the mass flow rate provided by the pump and the expander volumetric efficiency were the main drivers that affect the plant maximum pressure. Subsequently, through a validated model of the expander, a diagnostic map was outlined to evaluate if the expander and, consequently, the whole plant were properly working.

Measurement of vibration of the vehicle on the road surface is one of the key elements of cargo and vehicle security. This paper provides results from transporting military cargo study that analyzed the various vibrations of acceleration during transport on a stony pavement road. The data include vibrations from three directions: longitudinal, transverse and vertical. Based on collected data the quantitative analysis of vibrations was conducted. The peak acceleration as well as the acceleration level was identified. The growth rate acceleration affecting the smoothness of driving and the impact of the vehicle on the stony surface were calculated. The study shows that the greatest impact on transporting cargo have vertical vibrations. In addition, using the Fourier transform, amplitude spectrum for all directions of oscillation was assigned.

It is common for a large motorbike convoy to cause accidents, both between large motorbike riders and other vehicle riders. This is due to the fact that the speed of the large-sized motorbikes itself can be said to be quite fast, coupled with the behavior of some of these riders who sometimes like to run red lights and put aside the traffic signs, which often results in accidents. Based on this factual background, the legal issues examined in this study are: What is the authority of the police in escorting large motorbike convoys and what is the responsibility of the police in implementing the convoy when accident victims occur on the road. The type of research used in this research is normative legal research. The results of this research are that the authority of the police apparatus in providing escort for large motorbike convoys is the provision of Article 14 letters a and 18 paragraph (1) of Law no. 2 of 2002 concerning the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia and Article 12 letter e of Law No. 22 of 2009. These provisions basically constitute the authority of the police apparatus to carry out the regulation, guarding, escort and patrol of community and government activities as needed, and to give the authority to act according to their own judgment in the public interest. The responsibility of the police is to carry out the convoy in the event of a victim of an accident on the highway in order to maintain order and ensure security, safety, orderliness and smoothness of road transportation.

Road users other than online public transportation must also be given legal protection and together enjoy the convenience of traffic facilities. Drivers are required to concentrate while driving a vehicle. This is regulated in Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Transportation Traffic, Article 106 that everyone driving a motorized vehicle on the road is obliged to drive his vehicle fairly and with full concentration. The observations made were that attaching a communication device to online public transportation proved that the telephone was used while driving a vehicle. Communicating by telephone while driving a vehicle will cause an accident that will harm other road users. This study discusses the regulations for using the telephone while driving against online motorcycle taxis and law enforcement analysis the regulations for using the telephone while driving against online motorcycle taxis in Bandar Lampung. The results showed the telephone regulations while driving to online motorcycle taxis in Bandar Lampung were Permenhub No. 12 of 2019 Article 4, Article 6, Article 17, Article 18, and Article 19. The results of the analysis of law enforcement on the use of telephones while driving in the form of online motorcycle taxis to contact consumers on their way to the location 3 (three) times, namely 32% (thirty-two per cent) and the intensity of online motorcycle taxis to contact consumers more than 3 (three) times, namely 27% (twenty-seven percent). The analysis data has proven that the intensity of contacting passengers is very much done while driving. Online motorcycle taxi drivers do not obey the rules because they communicate more by telephone while driving.



Growth in the population and road transportation for any region can create a higher demand for better road conditions and the less safe road conditions can be a great bottleneck for the growth of the nation. Hence most of the progressive nations like India,builds better infrastructure for the road transportations.Nevertheless,the higher populations in countries like India,demand greater maintenance of the roads and for a gigantic demographic, the maintenance work can be very tedious. Also,the damage in the road surfaces can also lead to the increasing rate of the accidents. Henceforth,the demand of the road maintenance is always increasing.Nevertheless, the existing road maintenanceauthorities deploy a manual process for identification of the repair needs, which is naturally highly time consuming. Thus, this work identifies the demand for automation of the road condition monitoring system and identifies the defects based on three classes as cracks, patch works and potholes on the road surface. The work deploys a novel model for parametric extraction, in order to segregate the defect types. The segregation of the defect types can be highly challenging due to the nature of the data,which clearly hints to solve the problem using unsupervised methods. Thus, this work also deploys a pragmatic clustering method using a decisive factor,which is again generated from the extracted features of parameters. The work demonstrates nearly 96% accuracy on the benchmarked dataset with sophistication on the complexity of the model.
