Balance in work and family life is an emerging challenge for both employees and employers. This study was conducted to assess the status of work life balance among post graduates in Eastern province. The first objective of the study was to find the level of individual, organizational and environmental factors of work life balance.The second objective of the study was to find out the level of work life balance, The third objective of the study was to explore the relationship among them. And the fourth objective was to explore the impact of individual, organizational and environmental factors on Work life balance among post graduates in Eastern province. By using questionnaires data were collected from 103 Post graduates who are following Post graduate program in Eastern University of Sri Lanka and South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and stratified sampling was used.  Data were analyzed and evaluated by using univariate and regression analysis. Findings of this study revealed that the individual factors, organizational factors and environmental factors were in high level among post graduates in Eastern province. At the same these three variables positively and significantly impact on Work life balance of post graduates.

Most researchers are investigating work-life balance as a Human Resource Management tool used to attract, motivate and retain skilled employees rather than focusing on how individuals achieve work and personal life satisfaction when engaging work and family roles. This study shifts the focus from the engagement perspective that is highly beneficial for the organization to an enhancement perspective that increases the quality of personal life. This study aimed to explore and describe strategies for the work-family balance that can potentially contribute to the family wellbeing of women in the academic profession in Sri Lanka. Semi-structured interviews exploring the experiences of work-life balance were undertaken with thirty women lecturers in state universities in Sri Lanka. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings suggest the following strategies: compartmentalizing and separating roles between work and life, fostering personal relationships, building a professional support system, a better plan schedule, and organization, self–care in terms of personal, physical, and mental health, learning and research-based work environment, effective communication in both domains, and utilization of technology and focus on sacrificing personal life for success. The identified strategies, specifically for the Sri Lankan context and that it does so from the perspective of Sri Lankan women academics.

Malaysian energy sector is listed as one of the sectors that have lower participation of women. This is due to the problem of attracting and retaining the women workforce within the field. The major reason women leave the energy sector especially in the engineering field, is due to the difficulties in balancing work-life. Women hold dual and triple roles where they are stucked between responsibilities as mother, wife, and daughter as well as responsibilities in the workplace. This situation contributes a great impact on their work-life balance. Empowering women in the sector could help in giving them more control in managing their work and family. Hence, this paper aims to provide an overview on women empowerment and its impact on work-life balance. In addition, this paper proposes a conceptual framework to analyze the level of women empowerment (welfare, access, conscientization, participation and control) and its impact on work-life balance of women engineers in Malaysian energy sector for future study. This paper will contribute to the knowledge on an area that is still relatively uncovered. Which refers to the impact of women empowerment and work-life balance of women engineers in energy sector. It is important for organizations to be aware about the importance of women empowerment and their employees work-life balance. Thus, organizations can take an appropriate intervention in order to empower their women talent and assist them to have better work-life balance.

Increased imbalance between work and family life of university teachers is an alarming issue now-a-days. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between work life balance and organizational commitment of teaching employees of Jashore University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. Data has been collected from 80 respondents through a questionnaire survey. Pearson correlation and regression model have been developed based on this dataset to get the result. The result shows that significant number of teachers perceived there is a positive impact of work life balance on the level of commitment towards their organization. This study certainly answers the question regarding the impact of work life balance on organizational commitment of the teaching employees. Moreover, further studies are encouraged to analyze the impact of work life balance by incorporating all the stakeholders of an organization which may help to generalize the findings of this study.

Abstract Businesses in the twenty first century are characterized by persistent changes, uncertainties and undue pressure to meet demands and increase productivity. For women entrepreneurs, they are expected to combine this with the statutory responsibility of taking care of their children, families and home front. Managing these different roles and responsibilities usually influences the business performance and family life and may impact their service delivery. Hence, the study examined the impact of work-life balance on service delivery among women entrepreneurs in south-western Nigeria. A total of 379 respondents were selected from a population of 25,122 members of the Nigeria union of tailors in Lagos, Oyo and Osun state using multistage sampling techniques. Primary data was collected through the use of a structured self-administered questionnaire and a structural equation model (SEM- PLS) was adopted for the analysis. The result shows work demands, wellbeing, family workload and spousal support with coefficients 0.219, 0.101, 0.061 and 0.563. The study also found that every unit change of work-life balance would lead to a 0.792 unit change in service delivery. Therefore, the study concludes that work-life balance contributes significantly to the service delivery of women entrepreneurs. The study recommends that women entrepreneurs should effectively manage their work and family roles, ensure creativity and flexibility in their work domains and seek support to enable them to deliver efficient service and achieve overall performance in their business.

Abstract The work-life balance needs to be exercised by individuals who perform functions in the fields of work and family, including Higher Education teachers. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the work-life balance in Higher Education and the impact on the well-being of teachers. Based on a systematic review of 53 articles retrieved from the ScienceDirect, Scopus and Web of Science from 2005 to 2020, this article has a rigorous systematic review methodology using the Mendeley and EndNote software tools. The VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel software tools were also used in the following techniques: citation analysis and co-ocurrence of terms/words. In addition, main topics discussed about the work-life balance among Higher Education teachers, research areas, field of activity and SWOT analysis (opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses) were identified in the literature. Findings suggest that gender inequality, stress level at work and the absence of a healthy workplace impact on the work-life balance and consequently on the well-being of Higher Education teachers.
