A series of spot welding technology, joint mechanical properties and microhardness test analysis of TRIP800 high strength steel were researched. Based on these experiments and analysis, effect of spot welding parameters such as welding current, welding time and electrode pressure on joint mechanical properties were explored. The relevant spot welding parameters of TRIP800 high strength steel of spot welding were recommended, such as welding current is7.5~8.0KA, electrode pressure is 450 kgf and welding time is 20cyc. Welding electrode should be to ensure that as much as possible and clean the surface,to avoid welding current and welding time is too high or too long, as well as forging lack of power, to prevent the occurrence of welding defects.

WELDOX series steels are commonly used structural steels. The effects of welding voltage, welding current and arc height on penetration and weld width of WELDOX960 steel sheet were studied. The mechanical properties and microstructure of WELDOX960E high strength steel welded joints were study by tensile, bending, impact, hardness and metallographic analysis.

Anisotropic plastic behavior of advanced high strength steel sheet of grade TRIP780 (Transformation Induced Plasticity) was investigated using three different yield functions, namely, the von Mises’s isotropic, Hill’s anisotropic (Hill’48), and Barlat’s anisotropic (Yld2000-2d) criterion. Uniaxial tensile and balanced biaxial test were conducted for the examined steel in order to characterize flow behavior and plastic anisotropy for different stress states. Especially, disk compression test was performed for obtaining balanced r-value. All these data were used to determine the anisotropic coefficients. As a result, yield stresses and r-values for different directions were calculated according to these yield criteria. The results were compared with experimental data. To verify the modelling accuracy, tensile tests of various notched samples were carried out and stress-strain distributions in the critical area were characterized. By this manner, the effect of stress triaxiality due to different notched shapes on the strain localization calculated by the investigated yield criteria could be studied.
