ABSTRACT Introduction. Early-onset psychosis (EOP) or early-onset schizophrenia (EOS), also called childhood-onset schizophrenia (COS), is a rare and severe form of schizophrenia and signed by psychotic symptoms by age 12 years. Diagnosis criteria of COS are similar to the criteria of schizophrenia in adolescence and adulthood. The difference is that instead of showing deteriorating functioning, children may fail to achieve their level of social and academic functioning. This study aimed to report the psychosocial aspect of COS case suffered by 12 years old girl treated for two years. Method. In-depth interviews were conducted with patients of COS and parents about the course of illness, parent's acceptance, patient's perception, friends and teachers' acceptance, and patient's academic achievement. Result. Parents could accept the patient's illness with expectation and hope that patient could finish her education as high as possible through her medication. COS patient thinks that she has "special ability" instead of a mental disorder.

This article provides an understanding of how the psychosocial and spiritual aspects of burn patients informs the chaplain’s interventions. It was developed by taking existing literature, using it in a clinical burn care setting, and then developing an experiential model of spiritual care. It has been attempted to point out to the reader where the literature supports the discussion and when the model uses the author’s experience to expand on that literature.

The state of community lock-down due to COVID-19 pandemic caused restricted movements of people. There are existing evidence of the negative impact of quarantine and isolation to the mental health of a person in different contexts. A scoping review of literature using Google Scholar was conducted to discover records about the public mental health while in a community quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic. A methodological approach suggested by Arksey and O’Malley was utilized. It comprised (a) identifying the research questions, (b) identifying relevant literatures, (c) selecting literature, (d) charting the extracted data, and (e) summarizing, analyzing, and reporting the results. As of April 17, 2020, there were only 4 original articles found that discuss psychosocial aspect of the COVID-19 crisis. After an online survey, they present evidence that (1) there is an outward change in the people’s behavior toward self-care during the pandemic and (2) trusting the community governing bodies can minimize the level of anxiety and stress. Other literatures found are original articles in preprint (n=8), letters, commentaries, editorial (n=6), review paper (n=4), and WHO guideline (n=1). It is evident that the psychosocial aspect of COVID-19 crisis needs more attention from the scholars and a large research gap can be lessened trough expansion of online platforms.

A qualitative, exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, featuring 50 semi-structured interviews with patients (45 males and 5 females) hospitalized due to traffic accidents. In most cases, the vehicle was a motorcycle and the interviewee was the driver going to work or returning home. It was not rainy in forty cases. Participants´ representation on traffic violence comprises the conception that society as a whole is violent, whilst traffic is another manifestation of such phenomenon within a society where education and respect for life are lacking. These aspects mainly refer to car drivers who, in a certain way, would disregard motorcyclists.

Besides playing their role to produce competent graduates, university staff have the commitment to develop their career as their final objective. While determining the achievability of the objectives, university staff are exposed to various situations that could potentially cause emotional imbalance. This could lead to unhappiness among them. Henceforth, a research on psychosocial aspect and work environment ecology needs to be carried out to identify indicators that help to improve the happiness of the university staff that directly affects the performance of the organization. A total of 535 respondents were randomly selected to answer a questionnaire which was based on the Model of Happiness. The benchmark used to construct the Happiness Index among Staff at University A was based on the measurement used in the World Happiness Index. Cumulative Index showed that the staff happiness was at a moderate level with a score value of 72%. The finding serves as a platform for University A to scrutinize and improve elements needed to create work life balance among academic and administrative staff.
