This paper focuses on determining the incidence of the psychosocial aspects of the dropout of students from the School of Marketing at the School of Business Administration of the Higher Polytechnic School in Chimborazo. In this study, the dependent variable include Psychological, Socioeconomic aspects, and its environment. In the dependent variable, the problems of the students, higher education, and social problems were considered. The research was a bibliographic and field research. It was, therefore, developed within the critical and qualitative paradigms. This is attributed to the fact that a dynamic reality was assumed for the diagnosis, analysis, and determination of results. For the collection of data, a survey validated by academic peers was used and executed with a data collection plan for 186 students from first to sixth level (27 teachers and 2 authorities). The data obtained was submitted to a data processing plan, and the analysis and interpretation of the data was later performed. Finally, each psychosocial aspect was submitted to a statistical test which shows that the university desertion has multi-causal origin. It also highlights that the most recurrent have to do with the psychosocial factors that affects the students.

A qualitative, exploratory-descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, featuring 50 semi-structured interviews with patients (45 males and 5 females) hospitalized due to traffic accidents. In most cases, the vehicle was a motorcycle and the interviewee was the driver going to work or returning home. It was not rainy in forty cases. Participants´ representation on traffic violence comprises the conception that society as a whole is violent, whilst traffic is another manifestation of such phenomenon within a society where education and respect for life are lacking. These aspects mainly refer to car drivers who, in a certain way, would disregard motorcyclists.

The state of community lock-down due to COVID-19 pandemic caused restricted movements of people. There are existing evidence of the negative impact of quarantine and isolation to the mental health of a person in different contexts. A scoping review of literature using Google Scholar was conducted to discover records about the public mental health while in a community quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic. A methodological approach suggested by Arksey and O’Malley was utilized. It comprised (a) identifying the research questions, (b) identifying relevant literatures, (c) selecting literature, (d) charting the extracted data, and (e) summarizing, analyzing, and reporting the results. As of April 17, 2020, there were only 4 original articles found that discuss psychosocial aspect of the COVID-19 crisis. After an online survey, they present evidence that (1) there is an outward change in the people’s behavior toward self-care during the pandemic and (2) trusting the community governing bodies can minimize the level of anxiety and stress. Other literatures found are original articles in preprint (n=8), letters, commentaries, editorial (n=6), review paper (n=4), and WHO guideline (n=1). It is evident that the psychosocial aspect of COVID-19 crisis needs more attention from the scholars and a large research gap can be lessened trough expansion of online platforms.

Abstract Introduction: psychosocial factors play an important role in chronic ailments like diabetes. Unfortunately, there is limited research in the area of diabetes and the published literature is scanty from India. In this study, we assessed the research productivity on psychosocial aspects of diabetes from India. Materials and Methods: the online database of PUBMED was searched using the search terms ‘psychosocial′, ‘diabetes’ in any field and ‘India’ in the author affiliation field. The available articles were studied further for analyzing the research productivity. Results: the number of available articles dealing with the psychosocial aspect of diabetes are 16 that constitute only 0.08% of the total papers in PUBMED. The articles were mostly in the form of original articles (13 out of 16) and the remaining three constituted a case report, review, and medical hypothesis. The majority of the articles originated from Delhi, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam. Conclusion: the research productivity from India is lacking in the psychosocial aspects of diabetes. The imbalance is marked as we have the highest disease burden and urgent measures are required to cover the gaps in the research.
