The modern requirements of the market economy and the increasing complexity of the field development conditions require new scientific and technical approaches in deep quarries and mines in the complex development of subsurface resources. As you know, the dominant mining paradigm in drilling and blasting is associated with the technique of drilling wells and boreholes of a circular shape (cavity) with the placement of explosives in it. However, in mining science and practice, the variety of mining conditions has long required the creation of methods for the destruction of rocks with an asymmetry in the distribution of explosion energy in space and its maximum concentration in certain directions. In this regard, we consider a conceptual direction based on a fundamentally new mechanism of action of the explosion of known groups of parallel-converged borehole charges, which effectively expand their use in various mining applications. The development of a new mechanism of action of the explosive process with the use of a computer program and numerical simulation of calculations made it possible to use the change in the shape and design of the charge as a means of increasing the share of the energy flow of the explosive explosion in a certain direction. The design of the deconcentrated charge is shown as a means of increasing the fraction of the energy flow of the explosive explosion in a given direction, which leads to a significant increase in the efficiency of the directed explosion and, in particular, minimizes its action in the opposite," legit", direction. Based on the results of the research, a method of blasting operations is proposed to neutralize the influence of anomalies in the state of the massif on mining operations by the explosive method. The method includes the appropriate tools, characterized by an unconventional design of the borehole charge and using a mechanism for influencing the anomalous states of the array with a combination of its explosive features.

Problem statement. What is mining science? Is it craft, art of “treasure hunters”, or science? What underlies the theory of mineral extraction? What is its place within the system of knowledge of the environment? Discussion. Today there is no precise, clear, and conventional definition of mining science, its matter and object. Certain attempts by numerous leading mining experts to become involved in the discussion 14 "Izvestiya vysshikh uchebnykh zavedenii. Gornyi zhurnal". No. 1. 2021 ISSN 0536-1028 extended significantly the range of applied problems, but generally the problem hasn’t been fully shaped. The ideology of the market is pragmatic (goods-money-goods), while the ideology of science is radiant as soon as it tries to cognize something unbounded. Obvious practical focus of mining historically convinces us of the fact that the mining effectiveness and wide knowledge of the interior, rock properties, law and forms of labor management are inextricably linked. Summary. Mining science should take rightful place among Earth sciences not only because mining is a stimulus to civilization, but also due to a range of life-support problems which mining knowledge deals with.

The research featured the contribution of prominent mining engineers to the development of the coal industry of the USSR and Russia. The research objective was to identify innovative results of the outstanding Soviet mining engineers and their influence on the intensification of all processes associated with coal mining. The methodological basis of the study was the theory of modernization. The authors compared scientific, technical, and socio-economic processes at different stages of development of the coal industry. Comparative-historical and problem-chronological research methods helped to reveal the causes and features of the competitive potential of Soviet world-class mining engineers, as well as to identify the origins of the crisis in mining science. The study contributed to a better understanding of the prominent mining engineer phenomenon, revealed its origins, and defined the most important contributions to the development of the coal industry of the USSR and Russia. The research will be of interest for historians of domestic coal industry. It is also valuable experience in formulating the development strategy of the fuel and energy complex. Intensive factors prevailed over extensive ones in the development of the USSR coal industry before the turn of the 1970s–1980s. This was made possible thanks to the intellectual and innovative contribution of prominent mining engineers to the development of fundamental and applied mining knowledge.

Non-active students are students who do not attend the lecture process and do not pay tuition administration fees within two semesters or more. Reports on students who are not active will have an impact on the quantity of tertiary institutions. Students who are not registered in non-active students will potentially be expelled or dropped out. For this reason, this research was conducted to explore information on potentially non-active students by applying data mining science with the Decision Tree method and C4.5 algorithm. The tested data were sourced from Triguna Dharma Medan College of Information and Computer Management (STMIK). The results of the study get prediction rules for student data that are potentially non-active with a very good degree of accuracy. So this research can be used to avoid students dropping out unilaterally.
