Covid 19 Vaccine hesitancy among health workers remains a major hindrance to the governments vaccine roll out plan among health workers and other target populations in Uganda. We conducted 12 focus group discussions and 20 in-depth interviews with health workers (vaccinated and un vaccinated) to understand barriers to vaccine acceptance in their own perspective and context in central and eastern Uganda. Reported barriers to vaccine acceptance included: gross lack of trust, fear of side effects, risk denial and insufficient information about the vaccine amidst negative publicity about the vaccine from the internet and social media platforms. Others were health system inhibition factors and religious beliefs against the vaccine. We recommend a health work context specific information, education and dissemination strategy to create awareness, information and more knowledge about the vaccine to health workers. We also recommend a sustained government media campaign to give more information about the vaccine and also dispel the negative publicity and misinformation about the vaccine. Dialogue with health workers at all levels of care, positive peer influence, use of religious and opinion leaders as well as government ensuring accessibly to various Covid 19 vaccines and putting vaccine posts outside hospital settings to limit exposure to Covid patients could also increase uptake of the vaccine among health workers.

Significance The scandal exposed by the 'Pegasus Project' investigation has spotlighted Israel’s leveraging of capabilities in digital surveillance and other security-related technology to develop defence and commercial ties with many countries. Alleged abuses by foreign governments of the Pegasus spyware -- developed and sold by the Israeli company NSO Group -- has raised concerns about the threat to privacy and human rights from such surveillance. Impacts The publicity surrounding the Pegasus spyware may enhance its standing with many potential clients impressed by its technological prowess. Israel, long criticised for its Palestinian policy, will suffer more harm to its image for allowing spyware exports to problematic states. The negative publicity will impede NSO from going public and raising private capital.

In May 2018, Wolvega Equine Hospital (WEH) experienced an EHV-1 outbreak. This outbreak caused significant economic losses and negative publicity for the hospital. How should hospitals prepare themselves for these outbreaks and prevent shedding of the virus on multiple neighboring premises? The hospital transformed most of its activities into mobile practice and the entire infected hospital population was moved to a separate remote location. The hospital was cleaned and disinfected according to the latest recommendations before reopening. Four neighboring professional equine businesses and three privately owned premises were affected by the spread of the virus from the hospital population and initiated quarantine restrictions. Equine hospitals should prepare themselves for EHV-1 outbreaks as the intake of the virus cannot be prevented. A management protocol should include public information protocols, swift client information and quarantine measures that ensure quick containment of the outbreak. Timely reopening of the hospital can be achieved by rehousing the contaminated population. It should also include good regulations with clients and a properly carried out release protocol. Equine sports organizations should establish sufficient vaccination coverage in order to decrease the frequency of EHV-1 outbreaks.

This chapter documents the various plans to encourage Black entrepreneurship. It mentions that Kodak spearheaded the creation of the Rochester Business Opportunities Council (RBOC) after it became wary of further negative publicity. It also analyzes the collaboration between the locally headquartered corporations, several universities, and private citizens with RBOC in order to provide funds, training, and technical assistance to Black individuals seeking to start or expand a business. The chapter discusses other organizations in Rochester that envisioned a different form of Black capitalism, a more collective capitalism wherein the Black community would operate businesses for the common good. It explores the alternative vision of Black capitalism, where profits are reinvested in daycare centers, affordable housing, and shopping centers.
