To the treatment and cure of gonorrhea

Schollz (D. m. W. No. 31, 29), on the basis of his many years of experience in the treatment of gonorrhea, indicates that Protargol and Albargin remain the best drugs to this day, because they act not only in a killing manner on gonococci, but also exert their influence on mucous membrane in the sense of its impregnation. In cases where gonococci sit deep in tissues (prostata, epididymis, ovaries), the author recommends using protein therapy. In stubborn cases, it is recommended to "Fieberbehandlung" with hot baths or inoculation with malaria. To establish the fact that gonorrhea has been cured, the author uses microscopic examination after a series of provocations, and also examines the patient with the help of cultures. An excellent means for establishing the cure of gonorrhea is the B.-G. reaction, and a negative reaction that occurred after the previous positive one is more likely to speak for a cure, while a persistent positive reaction indicates the need for a series of repeated microscopic and bacteriological studies.

Experience of using intramuscular injections of ichthyol in acute and chronic diseases of the female genital area.

The effect of ichthyol, introduced psectually into the human body, has not yet been experimentally studied. In Russian and foreign literature, I have not found an answer to this question. Perhaps ichthyol plays the role of an activator of protoplasm, and perhaps the action of ichthyol fits into the theory of irritation of Beer. Sokolsky, Kenis and others consider the action of ichthyol as protein therapy.

Current state of the art of protein therapy

The subject of my lecture is the doctrine of the nonspecific treatment of infectious and other diseases, which, under the name Proteinkrpertherapie, currently combines a number of long-known therapeutic methods, such as: vaccine therapy, serotherapy, organotherapy, as well as those departments of pharmacotherapy where the current principles are various substances of a protein nature.

Already the first edition of this book, published under the title "Vaccine Therapy in Medicine" more than 8 years ago as an appendix to "Doctor. Protein Therapy Clinical Observations

Currently, there is still no generally accepted opinion on the question of the indications for the use of protein therapy. Most of the observations refer to the use of protein therapy in infectious processes. Chronic infectious diseases of the skin, especially of staphylococcal nature, according to most authors, represent the most rewarding material in this regard.

Clinical observations of the action of turpentine injections in inflammatory diseases of the female genital area

A number of authors and researchers, sticking since 1916, have successfully used the so-called. protein therapy, namely, in the form of parenteral milk administration, for various inflammatory diseases of the uterine appendages, for uterine bleeding and for increasing milk secretion in women in childbirth.

Protein therapy for nervous diseases

Nading (Bp. Gaz., 1923, nos. 19-20), having applied milk treatment for various sufferings of the nervous system, both central and peripheral, found that in epilepsy and epidemic encephalitis it did not give any results.

On the issue of milk therapy for certain eye diseases

Currently, by protein therapy or Reiztherapie we mean a number of long-known therapeutic methods: vaccine therapy, serotherapy, venesection, parenteral administration of protein bodies (muscle protein, milk protein, egg white, ovalbumin'a, deuteroalbumos'bi, etc.).
