A structured-light projection system was designed for microscale objects with surface heights that ranged from tens to hundreds of microns. The system was composed of a universal projector and microscope system that supported editing the attributes of structured-light patterns in real-time and was capable of projecting microscale patterns. On this basis, reconstructing the metal surfaces of microscale objects based on grid patterns of structured light was investigated, the internal and external parameters of microscope vision and projection systems were calibrated, and an image algorithm for grid-node detection was designed. The results indicated that the proposed method successfully reconstructed the three-dimensional (3D) surface of microscale objects, and the reconstruction results were consistent with the original surfaces. With 95% confidence, the reconstruction precision in the X- and Y-directions was approximately ±4.0 μm and in the Z-direction was approximately ±7.5 μm. The designed system and the proposed method were suitable for 3D-shape measurement of microstructures in microscopic fields and can be adapted to meet a broader range of applications, as compared to current methods.

Abstract The coordinate base of the maps or sheets produced is the Universal Transversal Mercator (UTM) conformal projection, and it is not possible to work in a single coordinate system in Turkey. Therefore, a transition from UTM to other conformal projections is required. For the countries extending in an east–west UTM zone width like Turkey, composite projection (CP), a double standard paralleling Lambert Conformal Conic (LCC) and double map projections (DP) are used widely. However, this process causes increase in working load and processing errors by users. This study aims to determine a common projection system that can be used in the whole country. In this context, a composite projection from UTM and LCC projection has been defined for the first time. According to the results obtained, map projection CP with the least distortion values in both east–west and north–south directions has been chosen. With the CP selection, a single coordinate system has been determined for medium- and large-scale maps. Projection correction formulas, scale factor and false origin have been determined for map coordinates in CP. These distortions are obtained with a difference of less than 1 cm for 1 km long sides and less than 0.003″ for the azimuth value of this side, when the correction formulas are used.

Abstract The goal of this work is to research a possibility of laser projection system adaptation to a machine-building manufacturing enterprise. A model example of the use of a computer vision system in production is the task of reducing the labor intensity of installing welded elements on a product, reducing the production time, and reducing the cost of work. A formal statement of the problem is given - to use a laser projection system in the conditions of assembly and welding production for positioning welded elements on the main product with respect to dimensional accuracy. For experimental research, a section of a machine-building production enterprise with a pre-defective product and welded elements was used. The research took place in two stages. As a result of the research, the results were obtained, confirming the efficiency of the method.
