A slide crank and cam mechanism can be combined and used to drive a bandsaw blade grinder. The movement of these mechanisms must ensure a harmonious combination to avoid the impacts of a collision and dynamic load that appears on the cam and roller surfaces. The technical parameters can be determined by methods of geometry, or 3D simulation, or analytical methods. In order to flexibly design the cam and slide crank mechanism, this study uses the analytic method. By setting up mathematical formulas and applying Mathcad software, it allows to quickly determine and change the initial parameters of the mechanisms, evaluates their changes to the stroke and structural profile. Simultaneously, the graphs of the stroke, velocity, and acceleration of the cam mechanism allow the designer to evaluate and select suitable parameters.

The optical characteristics of two different brands of India ink, Parker Quink and Pelikan, as an absorber used in preparation a tissue-simulating phantom, have been investigated at visible wavelength range. For this purpose, a single integrating sphere system and a spectrophotometric transmission spectroscopy have been used to estimate the radiometric characteristics. Then, inverse adding-doubling algorithm was implemented to retrieve the optical coefficients of pure ink samples. Parker ink's absorption behavior turned out to incompatible with Pelikan over the present wavelength range. Furthermore, scattering property of both two brands has been exhibited and the albedo was calculated. Parker albedo showed a decremental behavior with wavelength and varied between 0.381 and 0.13. A structural profile of albedo was found for Pelikan, which varied between 0.366 and 0.03. This discrepancy might be explained by the variety of two brands composition besides experimental errors. Furthermore, Parker ink absorption variation turned out to be in correspondence to several tissues' absorption feature over broad wavelength ranges. Finally, Parker ink could be regarded as a better candidate to mimic absorption property for several tissues.

The study showed the presence of negative dynamics in the provision of the population with orthopedic dentists and dental technicians, as well as a decrease in the staffing of medical organizations with these specialists. The fact of exceeding the basic rate of loss of dental technicians over the same indicator for dentists-orthopedists by 2 times was established. Since the coefficient of concurrency among dentists-orthopedists and dental technicians is less than the average for the specialty, the possibility of increasing the availability of personnel by combining positions is revealed. The trends of decreasing interest of specialists in obtaining qualification categories are noted. According to the survey of 305 specialists, a model of the most probable structural profile of a dentist-orthopedist was created and the characteristic features of the learning processes and practical use of knowledge on the main new technologies in orthopedic dentistry were determined. There are limited opportunities to improve the availability and quality of dental orthopedic care and the introduction of new prosthetics technologies as indicated by the data obtained in the course of the study.

Predicting structural properties of proteins plays a key role in predicting the 3D structure of proteins. In this study, new structural profile matrices (SPM) are developed for protein secondary structure, solvent accessibility and torsion angle class predictions, which could be used as input to 3D prediction algorithms. The structural templates employed in computing SPMs are detected by eight alignment methods in LOMETS server, gap affine alignment method, ScanProsite, PfamScan, and HHblits. The contribution of each template is weighted by its similarity to target, which is assessed by several sequence alignment scores. For comparison, the SPMs are also computed using Homolpro, which uses BLAST for target template alignments and does not assign weights to templates. Incorporating the SPMs into DSPRED classifier, the prediction accuracy improves significantly as demonstrated by cross-validation experiments on two difficult benchmarks. The most accurate predictions are obtained using the SPMs derived by threading methods in LOMETS server. On the other hand, the computational cost of computing these SPMs was the highest.
