Counselor education programs provide counselors-in-training (CITs) with courses focused on counseling skill development to increase the CITs’ interpersonal counseling abilities and increase multicultural awareness. The research study presents findings from the author’s exploration of online students’ experiences in an experiential community immersion assignment. For analysis, the data was divided into three timeframes: (a) pre-experience, (b) active-experience, and (c) post-experience. In the pre-experience timeframe two themes emerged: (a) overwhelming nervousness and (b) judgmental thoughts. In the active-experience timeframe two themes emerged: (a) welcoming environment and (b) normalization of the minority population. During the post-experience reflections three common themes emerged: (a) similarities between groups, (b) motivation to create relationships, and (c) increased empathy. The study concluded the participants reported an overall increase in multicultural awareness through their community immersion experiences.

In Vietnam, career counseling for students after graduating high school has limitations and advancing the career counseling skills of the high school teachers has not been highly assessed. An effort for the factor theory and measure proposal is the base for dealing with the problem. The author carried out a survey of 115 teachers belonging 40 high schools in Vietnam. As a result, the reality of career counseling skills of teachers at high schools is at the average level. This research is the base for enacting policies for the training of career counseling skills at high schools in Vietnam in the future. The result is described in the content of this article.

Children' Development and Characteristic in elementary school-age are different. Each child is different, Low class students between high class students are different. The students come to school in order to be able to follow the education well. But It will not last forever. The problems that they face come from inability in doing assignment,wish, competition among friends, less motivations to study, less supports from parents and others. Deviant behavior also comes from many forms such as, bothering friend, breaking school's facilities, hard in focusing the attention, often musing, and playing-truant. The puroses of this dedication are : 1) class teachers and subject teachers can make a profgram of leadership and Counseling which is integrated into the lesson with tematic approach. 2) Giving Individual Counseling service to help the development and problems of students in Elementary School. The target of this dedication is subject teachers and class teachers of Elementary school in West Pasaman Regency. The method that is used in this research is Descriptive Quantitative, which describes the real condition. Elementary school teachers have had Basis Counseling skill to help students who have problems at school. 30% of elementary school teachers have had basis counseling skill to help students' problems at school, and there are still some elementary school teachers who have low Counseling skill.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan metode role play dan gaya belajar terhadap keterampilan konseling mahasiswa tentang adaptasi psikologi pada kehamilan trimester I. Desain penelitian yaitu studi eksperimental dengan Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester II Prodi DIII Kebidanan Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta tahun ajaran 2013/2014, sebanyak 45 mahasiswa. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan exhaustive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Instrumen penelitian yaitu kuesioner dan checklist. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier ganda dengan taraf signifikan 0.05. Hasil analisis regresi linier ganda, metode role play dan gaya belajar secara bersamaan mampu menjelaskan 28% dari variasi keterampilan konseling, sedangkan sisanya dijelaskan oleh variabel yang tidak diteliti. Berdasarkan kesimpulan hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa keterampilan konseling mahasiswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan penerapan metode role play dan identifikasi gaya belajar pada setiap mahasiswaKata kunci: Role Play, Gaya Belajar, Keterampilan Konseling AbstractThis research aim to analyze the influence of role play method and learning style to students’ counseling skill on psychologycal adaption in pregnancy trimester I. The study used experimental with Randomized a Controlled Trial (RCT). The sampling methods used exhaustive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria (n-45 students). The instrument used questionnaire and checklist. Data were analysed by using test multiple linier regression with significancy 0.05. The result showed there was a positive influence and statistically significant increase on applying the method of role play for counseling skill (b= 6.86, CI 95%=64.35-92.31, p= 0.009). There is a positive influence but not statistically significant increase visual learning style for counseling skill (b= 0.13, CI 95%=0.85–1.12, p= 0.783). There is a negative influence and statistically significant at the auditorial learning style for counseling skill (b=-0.97, CI 95%=(-1.80–(-0.14), p=0.023). There is a positive influence and statistically significant at kinesthetic learning style for counseling skill (b=1.28, CI 95%=0.42–2.15, p=0.005). The results of multiple linear regression analysis is that role play and learning style simultaneously are able to explain 28% of the variation of counseling skill, the remaining described by not examined variables. Result proves that students’ counseling skill can be increased by using role play and identifying learning style of the students.Keywords: Role Play, Learning Style, Counseling Skill
