The fog over Bangalore airport has been analysed. The different favourable conditions on the previous night of the fog day has been studied. Attempts have been made to forecast the fog using different techniques. The Composite method is a new objective method which provides a better technique both in terms of physical principles and statistics. The accuracy of different methods have been calculated for the purpose of comparison. The most important result of the analysis is that the frequency of duration and intensity of fog have gradually increased from the decade of 80s to the decade of 90s which may be due to the increase in pollution of air, other factors remaining unchanged.

Abstract The optimal conformations of nitrates and nitrites of aliphatic alcohols C1-C4, as well as radicals formed during homolytic cleavage of O-NO2 and O-NO bonds were determined using the multistep (composite) method G4, as well as a large number of different density functional (DDF) methods and basis sets. The enthalpies of formation and dissociation energies of breaking bonds were calculated for the studied compounds. Comparison with the available experimental data shows that the best agreement with experiment is achieved when using the G4 method. In this case, the error in the enthalpies of formation does not exceed 1 kcal/mol. The paper also discusses the features of the influence of the molecular structure on the change in the series of enthalpies of formation and dissociation energies.

This paper explores how race comes to matter in the practice of police facial composite drawing. The confidential nature of criminal investigations prevented us from using research material collected through observations of police practices. The authors developed an experimental film project in collaboration with two forensic artists to illuminate the production of (visual) differences in the context of facial composite drawing. We recorded the process using a variety of technologies to produce different materializations of the drawing event. The experimental setting created a reflexive space for all participants, albeit not in the same way. Tinkering with the materials generated allowed us to analyze the enactment and slipperiness of race in practice. This paper combines written text with experimental montage to address three different practices through which race takes shape in the process of making facial composite drawings: 1) touching as describing; 2) layering and surfacing; and 3) articulating the common.
