Abstract This study aims to determine the distribution pattern, morphological and agroecological characteristics of Purwoceng Gunung. The research location on the slopes of Mount Lawu, around the Grojogan Sewu, Tawangmangu sub-district. The sampling point was determined based on purposive random sampling through a pre-survey. Determination of sample plots and analysis of vegetation using the transect (line) method. The results showed that the stem shape was round and segmented, smooth surface and green, oval leaf shape with serrated edges, compound leaves, pointed leaf tip, blunt leaf base, green leaf color with a length of 4 cm and a width of ± 2 cm. The location of the flowers at the end of the stem and classified as compound interest, fibrous roots with yellowish white color. The distribution pattern of Purwoceng Gunung was uniform with low population density of 6 individuals per plot and an INP of 4.4. Habitat agroecological conditions with climate type C with the following soil chemistry: C organic 5.8%, organic matter 9.9%, N 0.27 %, P 16.04 %, K 0.27 %, pH NaF 9.02, pH H2O 6.1, CEC 26, 9 me 100 g-1, field capacity 43.9. The proportions of dust, clay and sand were 27.4%, 9.4% and 63.2% respectively.

We consider the optimal order quantity problem for exponentially deteriorating items where the opportunity cost is based on compound interest and backorders are allowed. Our objectives in this research are to develop a model that accurately models deterioration, compound interest and backordering, and determine a near-optimal and intuitive closed-form solution for the proposed model. Deteriorating items include various chemicals, gasoline and petroleum products, fresh produce, bulk and liquid food products, batteries, and some electronic components. These items incur losses over time due to spoilage, evaporation, chemical decomposition, breakdown, or deterioration in general. Exponential deterioration is commonly used to model this phenomenon, which results in a negative exponential inventory level function, which is asymmetric in the sense that the rate of depletion is highest at the beginning of an ordering cycle, and lowest at the end. On the other hand, the rate of deterioration for individual items is the same at both ends of the cycle, which means it is symmetric. Compounding also leads to exponential terms in the opportunity cost function. Both of these factors result in a total cost function that does not have a closed-form optimal solution. We therefore approximate the total cost function using a Taylor series expansion approximation of the exponential function and derive a closed-form solution that is simple and logical, and very close to the exact optimum, which makes it attractive to the practitioners as a quick and accurate calculation. Our closed form solutions for both the basic and the planned backorders models are very close to the exact optimum, as shown by extensive numerical experiments.

AbstractThis article describes the application of a teaching sequence designed to introduce concepts of financial and socioemotional education to 1st-grade high school students on the northern coast of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The introduction of concepts of financial planning, opportunity cost, financial relativity, self-management, percentages, and simple and compound interest in real-life contexts commonly experienced by the students promoted significant learning, triggering reflections on the psychological pitfalls involved in financial decisions and the economic world. Ways of dealing with money in a balanced, conscious fashion were discussed. Classroom records and group conversations revealed gains in perception of major financial mistakes and acquisition of critical thinking in economic issues. Keywords: Self-knowledge, Emotion management, Financial and environmental health, Active methodology.ResumenAbordamos el desarrollo de una secuencia didáctica, con el objetivo de insertar conceptos de educación financiera y educación socioemocional para estudiantes de 1er año de secundaria de una escuela de la costa norte del estado de São Paulo. Chapter 4 turns from social fictions to fictive renderings of the wide and variegated world of trade. Early modern merchandise mirrored—and fueled—the poetic imagination. In turn, poets conjured fantastic visions of the world structured by trade. Ben Jonson’s Volpone exemplifies the period association of circulating commodities with poetic creativity: between world and word. Yet the play, remarkably, lacks debt relations. Decades later, Jonson revisits the relationship between word and world in his late, strange The Magnetic Lady, where credit takes center stage. The play’s figure of commerce, Moth Interest, is a moneylender whose verbal and imaginative capacity marks him as an heir of Jonson’s Volpone but renders him out of place in an economy increasingly oriented towards abstract capital and away from tangible wealth. Reading this play alongside tables of compound interest and tables of logarithms, the chapter argues that the play represents a world turning toward the abstract and numerical, and away from the verbal and material. It thus signals an end to the fictions of credit that had animated the Shakespearean stage: fictions that were fundamentally local and dialogic, developed in the interplay of artifice and interpretation.
