The Electrokit is an initiative created by the IDB to strengthen transformation and continuous improvement of electric utilities in the LAC region. The Electrokit is organized in 16 activities that are common to most electricity utilities. This publication presents the indicators and best practices related to Electricity Loss Reduction. The aim of the toolkit is to provide power utilities, policy and decision-makers access to best practices, current trends, and expertise to: (i) identify challenges, develop a strategy and action plan for addressing them; and (ii) support utilities to be more sustainable, efficient, improve customer experience and accelerate innovation to stay ahead of the rapidly sector transformation.

The energy problem is one of the most pressing issues in the world  is on the agenda of scientists working in the field of energy.  XXI  century with the development of science, rising technology creating the opportunity for a person to live normally, providing him with enough energy, food is one of the key issues.  Everyone knows digging  the energy reserves of its resources are declining.  But the need for it increased, and now the world's population has reached seven billion. There are the following types of energy sources that used by humanity: oil, coal, gas, atom, biomass, water, solar, wind, geothermal energy.  This energy sources can be divided into two types, respectively.  Biomass, water, sun, wind, geothermal energy - renewable;  oil, coal, gas, nuclear energy - non-renewable.  The energy from these resources is electricity, utilities such as energy consumed for services (heating of buildings, hot water supply) occurs in views.

Palm Oil Factory Energy consists of steam and electricity. To increase the performance, energy will to be audited. Electrical measurements are carried out at the power house, panels at each station and some electric motors. Measurement in the main panel uses a power quality analyzer that can measure power, power factor, harmonics, unbalance and other electrical parameters. For measurement of mechanical equipment with steam energy such as boilers and turbines using temperature measuring devices with infrared thermal imaging tools FLIR brand. The quality of electric power with a total harmonic of 5.12% and individual harmonics of 2.78%. Voltage and current unbalance are 0.09% and 0.15%. Voltage drop is equal to 3 volts. The use of electricity utilities is 22.81 kW / ton FFB. The factory has cos phi of 0.84 but requires automatic power factor correction. The efficiency of boilers is 64.19% with the biggest losses being dry flue gas of 20.19% and oyher boiler  of 67.82% with the biggest losses being dry flue gas of 16.45%.

This article shows that customer value generation has drivers, which could be different according to each stakeholder within the electricity industry, affecting its growth. Each stakeholder has different interests that affect the decision-making process and the customer value perception in the long term, which impacts on profitability. In order to illustrate how to identify and model key performance drivers to evaluate creating value in the electricity utility industry, this study used a simulation with the system dynamics methodology. Through simulation scenarios, this study shows that, the high customer value perception allows the electricity utilities industry to create more value. This is illustrated with the case of some electricity utilities engaged in the generation and distribution in the Colombian electricity market. The results show a new point of view that contributes to marketers and engineers in the analysis of the relationship between the stakeholders and electricity firms.

Increasing concerns over global and local sustainability issues motivate businesses to develop solutions via collaborative partnerships. While many studies explain the contributions of sustainable alliances to economic, environmental, and social sustainability, less is known about how a portfolio of these alliances is configured. This study aims to answer this question by examining the relationship between organisational value frames and alliance portfolio configurations of 16 utility companies in the electricity industry of Great Britain. The study finds that organisational value frames play a key role in the selection of alliance partners and hence the configuration of alliance portfolios. The results demonstrate that British electricity utilities often collaborate with cognitively similar organisations. The results demonstrate that cognitive homophily is common in selecting partners to tackle sustainability issues. While previous studies demonstrated homophily in partner selection as resource homophily or status homophily, in the sustainability context, this study shows that homophily is also about values that guide interpretations of sustainability issues.
