This paper analyzes the implementation of a domestic violence law in Minnesota that, in 2006, made the violation of a Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order a felony-level offense. Since this legal change, the rate of conviction for Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order felonies skyrocketed with stark racial disparities among Black and Native American residents, relative to Whites. Analysis of case files reveals that Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order convictions result from a range of behaviors, from seemingly mutual contact between the defendant and protected party to serious physical violence. We argue that the Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order law facilitates pragmatic punitiveness for legal actors. It is easier for prosecutors to demonstrate contact occurred than to prove domestic assault. Yet, the penalty for a Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order is as severe as the penalties for other domestic abuse-related crimes in Minnesota. Thus, the Domestic Abuse No-Contact Order law enables prosecutors to respond forcefully to domestic violence while avoiding additional burdens on their time and resources.

The study examined the diffusion phenomenon caused by compressive forces in tribotechnical nodes adhering to each other under high contact pressure and the mechanism of rupture of surfaces during surface fatigue. As a result, for two metal surfaces, depending on the nature of the touch, the gravitational and repulsive forces generated during the interaction in any environment are determined based on the number of touches and an analytical expression is obtained to calculate them. To combat the outbreak of the pandemic, most of the countries have used partial to complete lockdown as the only weapon to stop the spread of the virus. In the current scenario, almost all the private sector companies as well as the government offices have suggested all the employees to work from home to stop the community spread of the disease that may occur if people come in mutual contact. While we think of governing authorities around the world, each and every government provides some e-facilities to their citizens to some what extent. Generally E-Governance can be stated as the facility to receive each and everything electronically i.e. you don’t need to go to outside home to receive any document or order. In this paper, we briefly described the different aspects of e-governance.

In the present paper, an innovative, recently patented technique for the construction of a curved structural member without scaffolds is proposed and illustrated. It consists of a Hinged Lifting Arch (HLA), using Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bonded strips. In detail, a series of blocks are cut following an arch geometry and then aligned on the ground floor to bond a composite on their top surface. Moreover, impregnation of the polymeric adhesive is not allowed at the extremities of each block. The fiber sheet is applied continuously along the entire extrados. In this context, hinges are introduced, and the FRP-connected blocks can easily rotate in the opposite direction around the contact ends (i.e., hinges). Finally, the middle block is lifted up, and the arch takes the desired shape. Moreover, an analytical model is proposed and discussed for designing the proper aspect ratio of the blocks in order to ensure full mutual contact when the HLA is completely lifted. The advantages of the proposed technique relate to the absence of scaffolds and improved seismic strength against horizontal loads, thanks to the presence of the FRP, which limits the occurrence of hinges at the extrados.

<p>This article examines mutual relationships in the historical teachings of Christianity and Islam. Drawing on John B. Cobb, Jr’s  mutual transformation theory, the article argues that early Christians and Muslims scholars have learned from other traditions in developing their religious teachings. I employ historical writings on the key figures and the early scholars of both religions. Based on documentary research, this article illustrates the mutual contact with other religious communities in the history of Christianity and Islam. Both Christian and Muslim Classical philosophers touch upon classical Greek Philosophers to develop intelectual traditons and teachings. As a result of the encounter, mutual transformation invites people to be involved in a deep dialogue and to be openhearted to learn, from the teachings of other religious traditions.</p>

Topologies of large deformation contact-aided compliant mechanisms (CCMs), with self and mutual contact, exemplified via path generation applications, are designed using the continuum synthesis approach. Design domain is parameterized using honeycomb tessellation. Assignment of material to each cell, and generation of rigid contact surfaces, are accomplished via suitably sizing and positioning negative circular masks using the stochastic hill-climber search. To facilitate contact analysis, boundary smoothing is implemented. Mean value coordinates are employed to compute shape functions, as many regular hexagonal cells get degenerated into irregular, concave polygons as a consequence of boundary smoothing. Both geometric and material nonlinearities are considered. The augmented Lagrange multiplier method with a formulated active set strategy is employed to incorporate both self and mutual contact. Synthesized contact-aided compliant continua trace paths with single, and importantly, multiple kinks and experience multiple contact interactions pertaining to both self and mutual contact modes.

According to the yarn mechanism of self-twist jet vortex spinning, this article analyzes the structure and the fracture mechanism of self-twist jet vortex spinning yarn. Combined with experiments, this article established that the fiber in self-twist jet vortex spun yarn has self-twist, which increases the mutual contact area and the cohesion between the fibers in the yarn. This is helpful to improve the evenness and tensile properties of jet vortex spun yarn. The self-twist jet vortex spinning can keep the high spinning speed of the jet vortex spinning at the same time. The research on self-twist jet vortex spinning lays the foundation for the research and the development of jet vortex spinning.
