Floor covering samples of different thickness, pile height, pile design, materials, construction methods, and applied finishes were selected for electrostatic characterization with a standard plotter platform and a newly designed digital platform. There is an existing standard ISO 6356 in which the voltage generated by a human walking on the carpet is measured with human involvement under controlled conditions. A walking person performs the original test procedure to generate the electrostatic charge and manually calculates results. In contrast, the newly designed system does not require a person to calculate peaks and valleys for the generated electrostatic charges, which offers advantages in terms of accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility, and eliminates human error. The electronic platform is extended with an automated foot for a fully automated test, called “automatic mode”, that has a fixed capacitive and resistive circuit, in replace of human body resistance, and capacitance that varies from person to person and over time. The procedure includes both the old and new platforms, where the new platform is placed in a “human walking” mode to compare the two and validate the new device. Next, all the floor coverings are tested in automatic mode with the automated foot to compare and validate results. We conclude that the new testing device can fully characterize the electrostatic behavior of textile without the involvement of a human, which offers advantages in terms of accuracy, consistency, and reproducibility.

ENGLISHCOVID-19 spread out rapidly and it has caused a lot of mortality among the victims. Objectives of the research are to describe the COVID-19 cases based on the gender, and age group in the study area and to analyze the effect of population density on COVID-19 cases. The study used quantitative descriptive approach. The study used secondary data available at BPS, the Health Office, and the COVID-19 task force website in Pati Regency. It used a descriptive analysis and also a statistical test, namely a simple linear regression test. The results showed that 53% of COVID-19 victims are males. Most cases of COVID-19 attacked the productive agers, mainly at the ages of 46-59 years old consisting of 637 people (36.59%). Based on data up to November 1st, 2021, the most COVID-19 sufferers in Pati District are 1857 people. Based on the regression test, there is an effect of population density on the highly accident cases of COVID-19. There is a strong influence of population density on the COVID-19 cases with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.890 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.793. It means that 79% of COVID-19 sufferers are influenced by population density.  Therefore, prevention efforts must be carried out through counseling to male people in order not to smoke and increase the application of health protocols. In addition, prevention for elder people is conducted by increasing body resistance by fulfilling food intake and vaccination. INDONESIACOVID-19 menyebar dengan cepat dan menyebabkan banyak kematian pada masyarakat yang terpapar. Background: Chronic oral ATP supplementation benefits cardiovascular health, muscular performance, body composition, and recovery while attenuating muscle breakdown and fatigue. A single 400 mg dose of oral ATP supplementation improved lower body resistance training performance and energy expenditure in recreational resistance trained males, however, the minimal effective dose is currently unknown.Materials and Methods: Twenty recreationally trained men (age 28.6 ± 1.0 years, body mass 81.2 ± 2.0 kg, height 175.2 ± 1.4 cm, 1RM 141.5 ± 5.0 kg) consumed a single dose of either 400 mg, 200 mg, or 100 mg ATP (PEAK ATP®, TSI USA LLC, Missoula, MT, USA) or a placebo in a randomized, placebo-controlled crossover design, separated by a one week wash out between treatments. After warm-up, participants performed 4 sets of half-squats using free-weights until movement failure separated by 2 mins of rest between sets. Results: In comparison to placebo, 400 mg ATP significantly increased the number of set 1 repetitions (+13%, p = 0.04), and numerically increased total repetitions (+7%, p = 0.19) and total weight lifted (+6%, p = 0.22). 200 mg ATP numerically increased set 1 repetitions (+4% p = 0.47), while 100 mg ATP showed no improvements over placebo. 100 mg ATP (−4%, p < 0.05) and 400 mg ATP (−4%, p = 0.11) decreased the perceived rate of exertion compared to placebo. Conclusions: In this study, the effective minimal dose of acute oral ATP supplementation during resistance exercise to increase performance was determined to be 400 mg, while as little as 100 mg showed improvements in perceived exertion.

Background: We aimed to investigate the effects of an 8-week total-body resistance exercise (TRX) suspension training intervention combined with taurine supplementation on body composition, blood glucose, and lipid markers in T2D females. Methods: Forty T2D middle-aged females (age: 53 ± 5 yr, body mass = 84.3 ± 5.1 kg) were randomly assigned to four groups, TRX suspension training + placebo (TP; n = 10), TRX suspension training + taurine supplementation (TT; n = 10), taurine supplementation (T; n = 10), or control (C; n = 10). Body composition (body mass, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage (BFP)), blood glucose (fasting blood sugar (FBS)), hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), Insulin, and Insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and lipid markers (low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), triglyceride (TG), and total cholesterol (TC)) were evaluated prior to and after interventions. Results: All three interventions significantly decreased body mass, BMI, and BFP with no changes between them for body mass and BMI; however, BFP changes in the TT group were significantly greater than all other groups. FBS was significantly reduced in TP and TT. Insulin concentrations’ decrement were significantly greater in all experimental groups compared to C; however, no between group differences were observed between TT, TP, and T. In regards to HOMA-IR, decreases in TT were significantly greater than all other groups TG, HbA1c, and LDL were reduced following all interventions. HDL values significantly increased only in the TT group, while TC significantly decreased in TP and TT groups. Changes in HbA1c, TG, HDL, and TC were significantly greater in the TT compared to all other groups. Conclusions: TRX training improved glycemic and lipid profiles, while taurine supplementation alone failed to show hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic properties. Notably, the synergic effects of TRX training and taurine supplementation were shown in HbA1c, HOMA-IR, TG, TC, HDL, and BFP changes. Our outcomes suggest that TRX training + taurine supplementation may be an effective adjuvant therapy in individuals with T2D.

Abstract Background: This study examined the physiological and perceived impact of wearing a novel lower body resistance garment during exercise and recovery. Methods: Using a randomised cross over design, 15 recreationally-active males performed 2x10-minute steady-state runs followed by a 10-minute passive recovery with concomitant monitoring of oxygen consumption (V̇O2), heart rate (HR) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE; exercise portion only), wearing either the resistance garment (experimental) or running shorts (control). Results: During exercise, V̇O2 and RPE were higher (4.5% and 7.7% respectively) in experimental than control (V̇O2: r=0.24, p>0.05; RPE: r=0.32, p>0.05) whilst HR was lower (-0.4%, r=-0.05, p>0.05). During recovery, V̇O2 and HR were lower (4.7% and 4.3% respectively) in experimental than control (V̇O2: r=‑0.32, p>0.05; HR: r=-0.27, p>0.05). Conclusions: Though effects were trivial to small, and not statistically significant, these findings provide proof of concept and suggest that this garment design may increase the training stimulus during running and aid post-exercise recovery.
