The selective hybrid formation of numerous tiny carbon nanofibers (CNFs) in carbon-based nonwoven fabrics (c-NFs), namely CNFs formed only on the surfaces of individual carbon fibers (i-CFs) constituting c-NFs and not on the surfaces of carbon microcoils (CMCs), could be formed by the incorporation of H2 gas flow into the C2H2 + SF6 gas flow in a thermal chemical vapor deposition system. On the other hand, the nonselective hybrid formation of numerous tiny CNFs in c-NFs, that is, tiny CNFs formed on the surfaces of both i-CFs and CMCs, could be achieved by simply modulating the SF6 gas flow on and off in continuous cycles during the reaction. Detailed mechanisms are suggested for the selective or nonselective formation of tiny CNFs in c-NFs. Furthermore, the electromagnetic wave shielding effectiveness (SE) values of the samples were investigated across operating frequencies in the 8.0–12.0 GHz range. Compared with previously reported total SE values, the presently measured values rank in the top tier. Although hybrid formation reduced the electrical conductivity of the native c-NFs, the total SE values of the native c-NFs greatly increased following hybrid formation. This dramatic improvement in the total SE values is ascribed to the increased thickness of c-NFs after hybrid formation and the electromagnetic wave absorption enhancement caused by the intrinsic characteristics of CMCs and the numerous intersections of tiny CNFs.

Protozoa and fungi are known to have extraordinarily diverse mechanisms of genetic exchange. However, the presence and epidemiological relevance of genetic exchange in Trypanosoma cruzi, the agent of Chagas disease, has been controversial and debated for many years. Field studies have identified both predominantly clonal and sexually recombining natural populations. Two of six natural T. cruzi lineages (TcV and TcVI) show hybrid mosaicism, using analysis of single-gene locus markers. The formation of hybrid strains in vitro has been achieved and this provides a framework to study the mechanisms and adaptive significance of genetic exchange. Using whole genome sequencing of a set of experimental hybrids strains, we have confirmed that hybrid formation initially results in tetraploid parasites. The hybrid progeny showed novel mutations that were not attributable to either (diploid) parent showing an increase in amino acid changes. In long-term culture, up to 800 generations, there was progressive, gradual erosion of progeny genomes towards triploidy, yet retention of elevated copy number was observed at several core housekeeping loci. Our findings indicate hybrid formation by fusion of diploid T. cruzi, followed by sporadic genome erosion, but with substantial potential for adaptive evolution, as has been described as a genetic feature of other organisms, such as some fungi.

Abstract The photocatalytic degradation and mineralization of ReactiveOrange30 on NiO/CuO/TiO2 ternary composites has been studied using solar light irradiation. This NiO/CuO/TiO2 ternary composites were prepared by different mass ratios of NiO and CuO/TiO2(3wt% to 15wt.%) on the ethonalic dispersion and annealed at 300˚ C. SEM, UV- Vis DRS, PL, XRD and FTIR analysis has used to characterize the all photocatalysts. NiO/CuO/TiO2 ternary composites demonstrate enhanced photocatalytic activity than NiO/TiO2, CuO/TiO2and pure TiO2 due to separation of photogenerated electrons and holes charges. The NiO/CuO/TiO2ternary composites shows good photostability and the photocatalyst retain the 94% of its initial activity in the seventh cycle, respectively.

The article presents some ideas about the hybrids that are made by combining the neoclassical elements or are mixed of Lithuanian or Latvian and foreign origin combining forms. The examples of hybrids found in English are also provided. This corpus-based investigation reveals that the formation of hybrids with final neoclassical combining forms in modern Baltic languages is a sufficiently active, productive and unobtrusive process of creativity and wit. The identified structural types of hybrids are the following: 1) the hybrids with the international elements of different classical or neoclassical origin; 2) the hybrids with the initial element of non-classical origin. They are almost identical in the analysed languages, suggesting that they are often borrowed and translated rather than created, but if they are created, then this is done by obvious analogy. Some Lithuanian and Latvian hybrids have long been used and included in various dictionaries, and their frequency in the linguistic corpus is quite high. However, most examples of hybrid origin do not exist and probably do not appear in dictionaries due to their rare use, uniqueness, distinctive form or irregularity. The knowledge of hybrid formation and usage can be relevant to the learners of Lithuanian, Latvian, and English, as well as translators, terminologists, and lexicographers.

The question of the originality of the syntax of native advertising publications in Russian editions of international glossy magazines in 2018-2020 is considered. The relevance of the chosen topic is due to the interest of domestic and foreign experts in one of the modern formats of brand promotion on the market — natural advertising that organically fits into the content of the site, print or online edition and helps to promote the brand’s products to the market. The novelty of the study is associated with the allocation, systematization and description of the main features of native publications: the functioning of bisubstantive sentences, question-answer complexes, connecting structures, definite personal one-part sentences with predicate verbs of the 1st and 2nd person singular; the use of bifunctional exclamation sentences, simple sentences, complicated by inserted constructions and introductory-modal words; the use of non-union complex sentences with explanatory semantic relations, complex sentences with explanatory-object and intrinsic-attributive clauses; introduction of various explicit intertextual units, etc. The author comes to the conclusion that the syntax of texts in the native advertising format as a whole is a hybrid formation, similar to the syntax, on the one hand, of direct advertising texts, and journalistic and PR-texts on the other.
