Abstract The first AFU principle is to “encourage the participation of older adults in all the core activities of the university, including educational and research programs.” As this suggests, a crucial goal of age inclusivity in higher education is to resist the siloing of older adults and age-inclusive efforts in age-specific programs and cohorts. In response, the Age-Friendly Inventory and Campus Climate Survey (ICCS) assessment was designed to assess age-inclusivity across seven areas of institutional activity: outreach & engagement, personnel, physical environment, research, services & resources, student affairs, and teaching & learning. By restructuring and expanding the “pillars” of institutional activity outlined by AFU principles, the ICCS presents two key advantages for benchmarking AFU practices: (1) it traces age-inclusivity across many facets of institutional operations; and (2) it prompts participants and report readers to recognize their role in current and potential age-inclusive efforts, regardless of their role or department on campus.

The 2021 7th International Conference on Advances in Environment Research (ICAER 2021) was held as a virtual meeting from August 26-28, 2021. Despite being an online conference, it was well received and a great success. The secretariat of the conference was in Building 38, No.1 Shilibao, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. This conference was originally set to be hosted and held face-to-face in Sapporo, Japan. However, due to the spread of covid-19 in the world, the epidemic situation in various countries was complicated, and the entry-exit management of the local government was strict. Hence, the conference committee finally decided to hold ICAER 2021 as a virtual conference. In the context of epidemic, ICAER 2021 online could not only effectively guarantee safety, but also arouse the enthusiasm of participants, and effectively avoid the situation of being unable to attend the meeting due to travel restrictions, control of the epidemic, and other problems. ICAER 2021 covers online Opening Ceremony, Keynote Speeches, Oral Presentations, and Closing Ceremony. All sessions in this virtual conference were presented by Zoom. Under the theme of “Environment Research”, many researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world had the opportunity to present their research results and development activities. Keynote speakers were allocated 40 minutes to deliver their speeches and 5 minutes for discussion and in the oral sessions, each author had 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers. During question time, the participants can use the “Raise Hand” function or “chat” function to ask questions. There were 6 sessions for all the presentations. It was a golden opportunity for the students, researchers and engineers to interact with the experts and specialists to get their advice or consultation on technical matters, academic theories and models, sales and marketing strategies. The ICAER 2021 proceedings is a collection of outstanding submissions from universities, research institutes and industries. All of the papers were subjected to peer-review by conference committee members and international reviewers. The final papers selected depended on their quality and their relevancy to the conference. The volume tends to present to the readers the advances in Environment Research and various related areas, such as Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental dynamics, Global environmental change and ecosystems, Soil decontamination, Environmental sustainability, Health and the Environment, Environmental dynamics etc… The organizers would like to acknowledge all the conference participants for their support to ICAER 2021. Especially we would like to thank the organizing committee, reviewers, speakers, chairpersons, and sponsors for their valuable advice in the organization and the professional peer review of the papers. Prof. Ngai Weng Chan Chairman Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia October 27, 2021 List of Conference Committee are available in this pdf.

INAFOR – International Conference of Indonesia Forestry Researchers - is a big event initiated by Research, Development and Innovation Agency, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, to facilitate the meeting of researchers and forestry experts from Indonesia and other countries, to share experiences and present the latest research results in the field of forestry and environment. INAFOR was held firstly in 2011 in Bogor and since that year it has been being carried out every two years up to the present time. The 6th INAFOR 2021 carries the theme “Greener future: environment, disaster resilience, and climate change” which is the key to a greener future. There are five main topics in this INAFOR 2021, one of them is the 6th INAFOR 2021 Stream 4 with the topic ”Engaging social-economic of environment and forestry, better social welfare”. The implementation of this topic is organized by the Center for Research and Development on Social, Economy, Policy, and Climate Change which currently changes the name to the Center of Standardization of Disaster and Climate Change Instruments. The objectives of the 6th INAFOR 2021 Stream 4 are: a) bringing together forestry and environmental scientists from all over Indonesia, to be internationally recognized, b) providing a forum for exchanging information, ideas, experiences, in several states of forestry and environment research, development, and innovation fields for both national and international scientists, c) building strong network among researchers, forestry and environment research institutes in Indonesia, d) delivering science, technology and innovation as the basis for standard, instrument, and innovative solutions for public, private, people and other stakeholders at national and international levels, e) sharing and formulating new ideas for the advancement of forest and environmental management in Indonesia and supporting global agenda, and f) sharing and collaborating the current trends and knowledge of innovative forest and environment management, as a basis to develop a standardized instruments, and policy for forest and environment sustainability. Actor Network Theory (ANT) takes on the position that non-human objects which alter the behavior of people with which they share an environment are actors exerting force into the environment. While ANT has been used in education since the late twentieth century, it has not yet seen utilization in school library environments research. As a result, there remains a significant gap in the way school library environments are studied. This literature review seeks to make a case for the importance of including ANT in school library environments research. By taking a closer look at the design and inclusion of specific objects within the school library environment, we can better equip school library spaces for the needs and wants of the students to which the library belongs.

This paper presents the success factors for undergraduate research projects (URPs) at Muni University. The objectives of the study were to determine the relevant skills required for the success of undergraduate research projects and investigate the roles of students, supervisors and faculty towards the success of URPs. Questionnaires were administered to a population of 70 final-year students. SPSS-v.21 program was used to analyse the data collected. The research instrument was reliable at Chronbach’s alpha 0.9038. Results showed that research, research environment, research management, personal effectiveness, communication, networking and teamwork skills are paramount to the success of URPs. The study found out that the key stakeholders (students, supervisors and faculty) perform their roles throughout the project period. However, there’s a need to have a mechanism for project tracking, filing complaints, and having URPs externally examined among others.
