The paper attempts to analyse the concept of memory in the social conscience, which is a taboo (despitefilms, testimones, the amount of academicresearch) related to the participation of the Polish communities in the Holocaust. It is believed that this dark memory or dark post-memory is animportant element which partially creates the sphere of key values for etery community ornation. Its absorption defines the maturity in taking up the challenges of history and indvidual experience. In order to avoid it being only anelitist memory, it should be included in the school practice, which is a difficult endeavour. It is controversial, and sometimes leads to an even stronger denial of knowledge and unwanted experience, due to its disgracefulness. In Jacek Podsiadło’s Słup ze słów, it is possibe to see the chance to break from this oblivion in the Polish Language Education.

If the Stoics teach that real freedom is inner, do they then condone enslavement? The Stoics never challenge the institution of slavery. In the current “cancel culture” with monuments of oppression toppling, why consort with ancient philosophers who not only condoned enslavement, but celebrated inner freedom as the most noble kind of liberation? Seneca grapples with the issue, but his principle of humane treatment of enslaved persons is driven more by expediency than social conscience. Stoicism is a way to endure and cultivate inner virtue when tight control from outside threatens your very being. It was a philosophy suited for the times. It again feels like a philosophy for the times. There is much to learn from the ancients. But there are also mistakes to avoid, including a retreat inward that runs from the full promise of humanity and true moral and social progress.

The picturesque, especially as imagined by William Gilpin, has long been critiqued as lacking in social conscience. The picturesque tourist is more often considered as detached from both the views and the people he encounters than as being sympathetically involved in either the local environment or its communities. This essay argues that paying closer attention to the importance and prevalence of atmosphere in Gilpin's picturesque provides an opportunity to reconsider such disinterest, as well as to acknowledge anxieties surrounding an embodied environmental sympathy in his writings that bears the influence of eighteenth-century medical thought. As both the aerial and meteorological conditions of a particular place and as a surrounding emotional or moral element, atmosphere is a medium through which Gilpin negotiates physical and emotional distance and proximity, revealing the picturesque tourist as a subject who feels their way into relationship with places and people, but who also negotiates the limits of that feeling.

Paraules clau: poètica de la resistència, poesia, franquisme, política, realisme Abstract: This paper aims to explore the poetry of the 60s of Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas in contrast with the poetry of Vicent Andrés Estellés as an example of «poetics of the resistance» proposed by the authors Cornelia Gräbner and David Wood (2010).
