However, auditors can tackle this issue by applying new methods. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the effect of auditor skepticism, auditor competence, understanding of information systems, and auditor motivation on audit quality. It also assesses whether time budget pressure has a moderating effect on the relationship between auditor competence, auditor motivation, and audit quality. 58 questionnaires were issued to government internal auditors in the Principal Inspectorate of Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Institution in the AKN V and VI units, and the data were acquired using a Google Form. SmartPLS software version 3.0 was used to analyze data applying Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Purposive sampling was used in this investigation, which took a quantitative approach. The paper uses the theory of planned behavior and the inverted U theory. The results conclude that auditor skepticism, auditor competence, and understanding of information systems have a significant positive effect on audit quality. Auditor motivation has no significant positive effect on audit quality. Furthermore, time budget pressure does not moderate the effect of auditor competence and auditor motivation on audit quality. This study is expected to provide valuable input to improve the audit quality and assist auditors in the AKN V and VI units uphold professionalism and integrity in carrying out audit examinations even under the condition of a pandemic.

In addition, to find out profesional commitment to moderate the effect of time budget pressure and locus of control on audit quality reduction behavior in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. The population in this study are auditors who work in Public Accounting Firms, the sampling method used purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 64 respondents who collected data using google form. Data analysis used multiple linear regression and moderated regression analysis (MRA). This study found that external locus of control had a positive effect on audit quality reduction behavior and the moderating role of profesional commitment was not supported. This study implies that auditors can adapt to current conditions except for auditors who have an external locus of control and policy makers can pay attention to this.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine whether time budget pressure and organizational-professional conflict have an effect on audit quality in the public accounting firm. This research uses quantitative methods. The primary questionnaire and data used in this study were obtained from auditors who work in public accounting firms in Indonesia. Sampling was done using purposive sampling method. To test the hypothesis, researchers used Structural Equation Model with the Partial Least Square approach. The result shows that both time budget pressure and organizational-professional conflict have the negative effect on audit quality. It implies that to maintain audit quality, is not enough just relied on the competence of the auditor, but also the psychological or behavioral experienced by the auditor.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah tekanan anggaran waktu dan konflik organisasi-profesional berpengaruh terhadap kualitas audit pada Kantor Akuntan Publik.

This research is a quantitative research using secondary data in the form of financial statements. This study uses a population of manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2017. The sampling was done by using a non-probability method with a purposive sampling technique. The number of samples used in this study is 34 companies. The data analysis method used is a logistic regression analysis method using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21. The results of this study indicate that audit tenure and audit firm rotation have no effect on audit quality, PAF industry specialization has a positive effect on audit quality, time budget pressure has a negative effect on audit quality.

The study was conducted at 17 KAP Banten Province with a total sample of 52 respondents. Data analysis used the SEM-PLS method by testing the measurement model and structural model. The results of hypothesis testing show that due professional care has a positive effect on audit quality, so the higher the auditor performs due professional care, the better the audit quality will be. Experience has a positive effect on audit quality, so the more experienced the auditor is in carrying out his duties, the better the audit quality will be. Accountability has a positive effect on audit quality, so that auditors who carry out accountability well can make their audit results more qualified. There is no moderation of time budget of pressure on the effect of due professional care on audit quality. Purpose This paper aims to propose and examine a pragmatic approach to minimizing auditors’ underreporting of time. Specifically, the study examines the effects of time budget pressure (TBP) and reported time use policy (RTUP) on time underreporting. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses a 2 × 2 between experimental design. The participants are 130 undergraduate accounting students and they completed a ratio-based task. The online experiment manipulated TBP and a RTUP. Findings This study shows a RTUP reduces time underreporting, especially when TBP is high. Practical implications This study is useful to audit firms because it provides a feasible solution to minimizing time underreporting. Social implications Studies show that firm culture affects the dysfunctional behavior of time underreporting. Consequently, this study recommends that firms influence the culture around time reporting through an upfront communication of a use policy. Originality/value Studies on time underreporting exist, but formal studies on solutions to the issue are sparse. The authors propose a solution to the issue of time underreporting, which is a RTUP.

This research was conducted on auditors working in the Public Accounting Firm (KAP) Jakarta region registered with the Indonesian Institute of Public Accountants (IAPI) in 2019 using the dissemination of questionnaires. The analytical instrument in this study is double regression. The results of this study indicate that turnover intention, performance audit, time budget pressure and professional commitment have a positive and significant effect on the dysfunctional audit behavior while the locus of control and organizational commitment negatively affect the dysfunctional audit behavior. This research contributes to the development of science, especially in the field of auditing the acceptance of dysfunctional audit behavior. The results of this study are also expected to be used by public accounting firms to consider when to hire new auditors so that companies can prefer those who have a high locus of control and have a high organizational commitment so that acceptance of dysfunctional audit behavior can be minimized.
