Triaditis is an inflammatory condition involving three specific organs, namely the pancreas, liver, and intestines. The most common clinical signs of triaditis are vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, and loss of appetite. Therefore, this case study was con-ducted to determine cases of triaditis in cats with these clinical signs. This case study was carried out on five cats with diar-rhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite. The fecal scores of cats with diarrhea were 2 and 3. Based on physical examination, there were two cats with hepatomegaly and three cats with jaundice on their mucosa. Treatments for five cats with diarrhea were antibiotic combination (sulfadiazine-trimetropine 50 mg/kg BW) and combination of antispasmodic, analgesic, and antipyret-ic (dipyrone-lidocaine 5 mg/kg BW).  Treatments for three cats with jaundice were asering fluid therapy and oral medication (ursodeoxycholic acid 8 mg/kg BW). Anthelmintic combination (fenbendazole, praziquantel, and pyrantel pamoate 0.07 g/kg BW) was given as an additional therapy for cats with intestinal worms. The two cats with diarrhea, hepatomegaly and jaun-dice were not survive after about one week of treatment, while the other one can survive until now

Indonesia still has health problem, especially soil transmitted helminth. These helminths can cause deteriorate health, nutrition, intelligence and productivity of patients so causes a lot of losses economically. The aim of this article is to review the rational treatment of helminth infection. Albendazole, mebendazole, and pyrantel pamoate are the drugs recommended by the WHO. However, the uses of the three are different, especially for mass treatment or selective medicine. This review conclude that the three drugs are used according to the target patient's age with dosages and preparations that must be adjusted.

Nematodes are an important cause of disease and loss of performance in horses. Changes in the parasitic fauna of horses have occurred in the past few decades, making cyathostomins the major parasites in adult horses, while large strongyles have become less prevalent. Parascaris spp. remains the most important parasite infecting foals and weanlings. Anthelmintic resistance is highly prevalent in cyathostomins and Parascaris spp. worldwide and it must be factored into treatment decisions. To assess anthelmintic efficacy in Northern Italy, we sampled 215 horses from 17 sport and horse-breeding farms. Fecal egg count reduction tests (FECRT) were used to assess anthelmintic efficacy. Copromicroscopic analysis was performed using MiniFLOTAC before treatment with fenbendazole, pyrantel pamoate or ivermectin, and repeated 14 days post-treatment. Strongyle-type eggs were detected in 66.91% of horses (CI95% 61.40–73.79%), while Parascaris spp. was detected in 2.79% (CI95% 1.94–5.95%). Reduced efficacy against cyathostomins was observed for fenbendazole in 55.56% of the treated animals (CI95% 41.18–69.06%), and for pyrantel pamoate in 75% of animals (CI95% 30.06–95.44%). Ground-based actions must be set in place to promote the uptake of state-of-the-art worm control plans that will prevent clinical disease while minimizing the selection pressure of resistant parasites.

ABSTRACT Dioctophymosis is the disease caused by Dioctophyma renale, a large nematode, popularly known as giant kidney worm, and whose definitive hosts are the domestic dog and many wild mammal species. There are some reports of maned wolf parasitism by D. renale, however, in most cases the reports are restricted to the finding of the parasite during necropsy, without clinical assessment. The present report aimed to describe the clinical-therapeutic, ultrasonographic and pathological aspects of D. renale parasitism in a free-ranging maned wolf, emphasizing the treatment with an association of doramectin, praziquantel, pyrantel pamoate, and febantel that resulted in complete elimination of the parasite.

Parasitic diseases continue to account for a significant proportion of overall morbidity in many parts of the world despite improved living conditions and increased awareness of health issues. The creation of innovative veterinary antiparasitic agents is a promising area of modern veterinary pharmacy. The pathogens Dipylidium caninum, Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis, Toxocaris leonina were identified in the study of stray dogs (n=12). Eggs of Dipylidium caninum, Toxocara mystax, and Toxocaris leonina were found during cats' examination (n=15). Both mono and mixed invasions have been diagnosed in animals. We established that the floor and inventory were contaminated with exogenous forms of helminths at an extent of 100% after keeping animals in the shelter's enclosures. An innovative antiparasitic agent was used to treat animals. One tablet (0.5 g) contains the following active ingredients such as pyrantel pamoate (150±0.5 mg), praziquantel (50±0.5 mg), and auxiliary substances (lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium stearate, sodium chloride, food flavoring "meat", povidone K-30 and potato starch). We estimated high antiparasitic agents' extensive efficiency (100%) at mono and mixed invasions in dogs and cats.
