The stress testing and evaluation of ferromagnetic materials that are widely applied in engineering has always been a focus of, and presented difficulties for, non-destructive testing. As there is still no effective method for detecting the stress of ferromagnetic materials, this paper puts forward the idea of applying the magnetic anisotropy method based on the inverse magnetostriction effect in stress testing of ferromagnetic materials. According to the principle of the magnetic anisotropy method, this paper discusses the development of Mn-Zn ferrite probes of three different structures, the construction of a magnetic anisotropy testing system comprising an excitation system, a signal collecting system and a signal processing system and the way in which a testing experiment was conducted on a 16MnR steel plate specimen under different conditions of stress, frequency and excitation voltage. All three types of probe can effectively determine the stress location of the specimen and present different phenomena and characteristics of the test. According to the experiment, significant correlation is seen between the stress and the magnetic signal, which provides a new idea for stress testing of ferromagnetic materials.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of counter-stereotypes cognitive training on adolescents’ aging stereotypes and to further investigate the best training method to intervene in aging stereotypes by comparing the effect of single and multiple intervention training methods on aging stereotypes and their retention effects. Three experiments examined the different intervention outcomes of different counter-stereotypes cognitive training on adolescent aging stereotypes. The study used a randomized block group experimental design and recruited a total of 183 middle school students for testing. Experiment 1 verified the effect of counter-stereotypes cognitive training by taking a single training task (evaluative conditioning technique), randomly assigning subjects to different conditions (training task or unrelated drawing task), and administering a follow-up test 24h after the posttest. Experiment 2a compared the effects of multiple versus single cognitive training, where we took multiple (adding the counter-stereotypes situational storytelling method) versus single training tasks and administered a follow-up test 72h after the posttest. Experiment 2b increased the number of training sessions based on Experiment 2a, with a second intervention training 72h after the end of the posttest and a follow-up test 72h after the second training. Experimental results suggest that evaluative conditioning techniques are effective in weakening subjects’ aging stereotypes, but are less effective in maintaining them. Compared to a single training task, multi-tasking is more effective and the effects of the intervention are maintained for up to a week by increasing the number of training sessions.

Abstract Quick and accurate information identification of agricultural transfer labor wage platform is an essential function of labor intelligent management in the new era. Based on the content feature retrieval, this study constructs an artificial intelligence identity information recognition system and links the system to the salary platform. Simultaneously, this study uses the feature recognition to extract database information and realize intelligent salary assessment. In addition, the deep learning features used in this study are based on the positional information of the sift features and are finally calculated by the activation map to obtain a global vector of an image. Finally, this study design testing experiment to verify the performance of the algorithm. Through the output of the feature picture, it can be seen that the research algorithm has certain effects and can be used as a follow-up system practice.

The aim of this study was to investigate the tolerance of Hypsolebias radiseriatus larvae to different salinities, and the effects of different prey concentrations and water salinities on the larviculture of this species. Salinity tolerance was tested by subjecting newly-hatched larvae to 96 hours of osmotic shock testing (experiment I) and gradual acclimatization (experiment II) of the following salinities: freshwater (control), 2, 4, 6 and 8 g of salt L-1. A third experiment (experiment III) evaluated three water salinities (S0 - freshwater, S2 - 2 g of salt L-1 and S4 – 4 g of salt L-1) and three initial daily prey concentrations (100, 300 and 500 artemia nauplii larva-1). In experiments I and II, survival was only influenced by the salinity of 8 g of salt L-1 (p < 0.01). After 35 days, weight was only influenced by prey concentration (p < 0.05), with the highest value being with 500 artemia nauplii larva-1. The lowest survival was for 4 g of salt L-1 and for 100 artemia nauplii larva-1. H. radiseriatus larviculture can be carried out in salinity of up to 2 g of salt L-1 and initial daily prey concentrations with 500 artemia nauplii larva-1.

A small-scale maize harvester was designed and fabricated for developing countries and is composed of a harvester header, a chain conveyor, a drive power unit and a five-wheel tricycle. Fabrication of components was made and assembling of the devices on the tricycle was done. The performance evaluation of the small-scale maize harvester was done at 15% kernels moisture content (wet basis). Three rotational speeds of the engine, 1347, 1521 and 1937 rpm were used, while the forward velocity of the harvester was kept at an average of 0.617 km.hr-1. The testing experiment revealed significant effect of physical properties of maize (p<0,05). The highest machine capacity was obtained at 0.05 ha.hr-1, while the highest driving efficiency was 97.30% and the highest picking and conveying efficiencies were 84.11% and 98.21%, respectively. However, it was observed that the machine noise level decreased with increase in engine speed. Also, the engine speed affected both picking and conveying efficiencies. The designed machine is found suitable for most smallholder farms.

In order to provide a convenient way to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles and prevent rotator cuff injury, this study designed an innovative strength trainer specifically for shoulder rotator cuff based on oscillating hydraulic damping. We carried out a myoelectric testing experiment to evaluate the shoulder rotation training effect and compared the results with traditional training equipment to verify the feasibility and validity of the new rotator cuff trainer (RCT). Then, we further explored the influence of different training postures and motion speeds on shoulder rotation training. In the experiment, subjects used three types of equipment (RCT, dumbbells and elastic bands) to perform shoulder rotation training under two movement speeds and two motion postures. The surface electromyography (sEMG) signals of targeted muscles were collected in real time and then further analyzed. The experimental results showed that when using the RCT, the muscle force generation sequence was more aligned with the biomechanical principles of shoulder rotation than using the other two training methods, and the target training muscles had the higher percentage of muscle work. During RCT training, a higher speed of movement (120°/s) led to a higher degree of muscle activation; coronal axis rotation was better for the infraspinatus training, and sagittal axis rotation was better for teres minor training. Based on these results, the RCT was proved to be more effective than traditional training methods. In order to exercise the different muscles of rotator cuff more comprehensively and extensively, different postures should be selected. Furthermore, the movement speed can be appropriately increased within the safe range to improve muscle activation.

The existence of electricity can encourage the improvement of the quality of life of the community. However, there are several problems with the provision of electricity in remote areas, including difficulties in delivering electrical equipment and fuel. One solution to solve this problem is implementing local waste utilization as fuel for power plants. This study aims to implement Waste to Energy using gasification technology on Tinggi Island, South Bangka. The methods used in this research are to calculate the potential amount of waste, design the equipment specification, make the supporting facilities, and do a testing experiment. Due to the low waste potential in Tinggi Island, local communities’ waste processing is carried out in Toboali. The waste processing stages are sorting, fermentation, chopping, drying, and pressing. The waste pellets from Toboali are sent to the powerhouse in Tinggi Island. From the performance and reliability test in the electrical side, it can be concluded that the voltage and the frequency generated is stable and within the safe limits according to Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 03 of 2007. The consumption of waste pellets needed to generate electricity during the reliability test (75% loading) is ten kg/45 minutes. Through the continuous implementation of waste to energy, Tinggi Island can be electrified all day long and solve the waste problem.

The vehicle market in Indonesia, especially motorbikes is very large, it is estimated that the growth of motorbike vehicles will reach 6 million per year. Recently, more than 50 percent is dominated by automatic motorcycles and the market increase significantly. This is because automatic motorcycles can be easily ridden. There are some weaknesses with this transmission system, among them is there is no engine brake when the road is in downhill condition. The motor will easily run when the gas throttle is pressed. This paper discusses the design of a mechanical system on the automatic transmission that is able to prevent mistake on procedures that causes accidents. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to do several steps, including reviewing the existing design, determining the new system, designing the system, manufactured and testing. Experiment results shows that the current motorcycles automatic transmission system can be replaced with a mechatronic system with special linkage mechanism to control ratio change.

Abstract Testing oneself (i.e., doing retrieval practice) is an effective way to study. We attempted to make learners choose to test themselves more often. In Experiment 1, participants were asked how they wanted to study and were given four options: retrieval with no hint (e.g., idea: ______), a two-letter hint (e.g., idea: s____r), a four-letter hint (e.g., idea: se__er), or a presentation trial (e.g., idea: seeker). They tested themselves on the majority of trials. In Experiment 2, when the hint options were removed, they chose restudy rather than pure test on the majority of trials. These findings show that people prefer self-testing over restudy as long as they can get the answer right on the test. However, we would not recommend hints if they impaired learning compared to pure testing. Experiment 3 showed that this was not the case; the three retrieval conditions from Experiment 1 led to equivalent amounts of learning, and all three outperformed the pure presentation condition. We used different materials in Experiment 4 and found that the hints made retrieval slightly less beneficial when the hints made it possible to guess the answers without thinking back to the study phase (e.g., whip: pu__sh). In summary, hints catalyzed people’s intuitive desire to self-test, without any downside for learning, thus making their self-regulated study more enjoyable and effective.
