Linear gel fracturing fluids are expressed with an extensive range of materials/polymers in an aqueous base. Earlier we developed fracturing linear gel with fossil diesel, bio-diesel and also used suspending anti-settling agents and emulsifiers. Here we report on a novel and an efficient method for the preparation of linear gel direct mix with water, guar gum and sodium acetate together instantly. In this research work, we used water instead of diesel without any need to mix anti-settling agents, suspending agents, emulsifiers that resulted in 30 viscosity linear gel. Degradation pattern observed from the breaker test showed that a reduction in gel viscosity depends on time, temperature & breaker concentration. Ammonium per sulphate or Ammonium per oxidisulphate and enzyme-G were used for oxidation purpose to break the gel gradually at a particular static temperature. Observations from experiments revealed that a small concentration of breaker provides rapid break compared to oxidative breakers. This article, designing of fracturing fluids describes how to use the fluid's viscosity generated by the gelling agents like guar gum for CBM operations.

Treatment of 2,4-dinitrophenol with sulfonyl chlorides in the presence of pyridine results in the formation of undesired pyridinium salts. In non-aqueous environments, the formation of the insoluble pyridinium salt greatly affects the formation of the desired product. A facile method of producing the desired sulfonate involves the use of an aqueous base with a water-miscible solvent. Herein, we present the optimization of methods for the formation of sulfonates and its application in the production of desired x-substituted 2,4-dinitrophenyl-4′-phenylbenzenesulfonates. This strategy is environmentally benign and supports a wide range of starting materials. Additionally, the intermolecular interactions of these sulfonate compounds were investigated using single-crystal x-ray diffraction data.

The earlier described reaction of homophthalic anhydrides with aromatic ketones and ammonium acetate was tested for cyclic ketones (yielding spirocyclic motifs) and aliphatic aldehydes. In contrast to previous findings, the reaction was found to require no catalyst at all and to be applicable, in the non-catalyzed format, to these new carbonyl substrates as well as aromatic ketones. The reaction typically proceeds with high diastereoselectivity; if not, the initial diastereomeric mixture can be quantitatively equilibrated into a single, trans-diastereomer on treatment with aqueous base.
