The aim of the study is to analyse the images of the epidemic of tertian fevers in Topografía hipocrática o descripción de la epidemia de calenturas tercianas intermitentes malignas, continuo-remitentes, perniciosas complicadas (1795) by Félix Ibáñez (ca. 1738-1808), one of the most comprehensive studies dedicated to malaria in the 18th century Spain. They are examined from the perspective of the importance of visual representations of the illness in the 18th century, related to a radical transition from a logocentric to a visually dependent culture, which took place in the field of art and medicine in theEnlightenment.

В рамках реализации музыкально-образовательных программ (лекториев) в музеях и галереях г. Казани с целью развития музыкально-эстетической культуры личности на основе общепринятого мнения о целительном свойстве искусства автором статьи были разработаны и внедрены рекреационно-оздоровительные практики, способствующие удовлетворению интересов и потребностей посетителей. Анализ методической литературы в области культурно-досуговой деятельности, музыкального искусства выявил наиболее успешные формы, методы, приемы, способствующие достижению цели работы. Обзор российского и зарубежного опыта по исследуемой теме способствовал определению музея как культурно-досугового учреждения, обладающего наибольшими возможностями в реализации рекреационно-оздоровительных практик с разными возрастными группами. Материалы исследования могут быть широко использованы педагогическими работниками, методистами, студентами учреждений, реализующих образовательные программы в социально-культурной и культурно-досуговой сфере, по музыкальному искусству, медицине.While implementing musical-educational programs (lecture courses) in museums and galleries of Kazan, the author elaborated and introduced recreational and health-improving practices promoting satisfaction of the interests and needs of the public. The programs were implemented with a view of developing musical-esthetic culture of a personality and based on the conception of the healing properties of art. The analysis of methodological literature in the sphere of cultural-leisure activity and musical art revealed the most efficient forms, methods and techniques, enabling to achieve the work objective. The review of foreign practices in the researched sphere contributed to defining a museum as a cultural-leisure establishment characterised by opportunities for implementation of recreational and health-improving practices at various age groups. The research materials can be of interest for educators, methodologists, and students of educational establishments providing programs in social and cultural, cultural and leisure, musical art, and medicine spferes.

RESUMOEste artigo tem por inspiração escrever sobre os caminhos trilhados pelo laboratório de sensibilidades do curso de medicina, do Núcleo de Ciências da Vida (NCV) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) – campus agreste em Caruaru-PE, e sugerir algumas pistas para a formação sensível no campo da saúde, a partir da experiência vivida pelos docentes do laboratório e do curso. Também apresenta de forma breve as discussões que ocorreram durante o primeiro ENSENSI – Encontro Nacional Sobre o Sensível nas Graduações em Saúde, com o tema “a (Re)Existência do Sensível”, organizado por este curso, em 2018. Tem por objetivo problematizar os caminhos, as estratégias políticopedagógicas do laboratório e o desenho pedagógico que ganhou forma. This article presents an attempt to reconstruct the image of doctor and the state of medicine in Italy in the XIV century. The work has an interdisciplinary character, is based on the traditions of the social and cultural history of medicine. The main source is Francesco Petrarch’s essay “Invectives against a doctor” (the mid-XIV century). The study of the main source, which is a subjective reflection of the processes and phenomena of that time, is supplemented by a careful study of the cultural and historical component, the picture of the world at that time. The author concludes that Petrarch, a representative of the Renaissance worldview, uses medieval methods of appealing to authorities. In order to create a voluminous reconstruction, it becomes necessary to study the medieval worldview (Le Goff J., Truon N.). Significant attention is paid to the disclosure of such issues as the place of a symbol, hierarchy, words in the culture of that time. Such components of the picture of the world as corporatism, attitude to virtue and sin, manual labor, authorities, science, art and medicine are involved. Negative components of the image of doctor and medicine of Italy in the XIV century, as evidenced by Petrarch, are supplemented with an alleged positive or ideal component, which results in a volumetric characteristic of the issue.

AbstractMillions of human oocytes and embryos are stored in thousands of locations across the globe. This inventory continues to grow as cryopreservation becomes more successful and more widely applied. The results of studies assessing pregnancy and neonatal outcomes following frozen embryo transfer (FET) have been encouraging, showing lower incidences of small for gestational age neonates and preterm birth compared with fresh transfers. However, many of these studies have also shown that the odds of large for gestational age births and macrosomia are higher after FET. The origin of these conditions remains unclear. Cryostorage presents many potential risks to the cryopreserved cells/tissues, including loss of viability and contamination, but risks are faced also by care providers—for example, injury and financial liability—and by patients—for example, accidental loss of their reproductive tissues, the burden of embryos they no longer wish to use and failing to meet their contractual obligations. Studies are urgently needed to explore and understand all dimensions of cryostorage to help ART clinics develop effective strategies to manage associated risks. The future of cryostorage, as for many other areas of ART and medicine, is automation.
