Abstract Wood science covers in particular the areas of the formation and composition as well as the chemical, biological and physical-mechanical properties of wood. First comprehensive studies have already been published in the last century. Detailed knowledge of wood is required for the processing of wood, the production of wood-based materials, and the utilization of wood and wood-based materials as buildings and various other products such as furniture. This review gives a brief overview on the progress in wood chemistry, wood biology (including photosynthesis and biodeterioration), and physical-mechanical properties of wood and wood-based materials. These fundamentals are also essential for understanding technological processes and product development.

Animals are an integral part of deposition practices during the Danish Iron Age, and they probably represent the most common form of deposit within southern Scandinavia. Recently Gotfredsen published a volume on animals within Danish Iron Age grave contexts, but similarly comprehensive studies of animals from other contexts have not been attempted. Thus, classic sites such as Valmose, Bukkerup Langmose, and Sorte Muld still stand as the type sites for Danish Iron Age animal deposits. This article will demonstrate that there are good reasons for exploring deposits in more detail and investigate the significant variation in the treatment and quantities of sacrificial animal deposits. Furthermore, the current study has revealed a deposition pattern where a primary animal is often in the company of one or more secondary animals, the latter typically represented by a few bones. Salpetermosen Syd (MNS50010), south of Hillerød in North Zealand, Denmark is the main case study, but comparisons are made to several sites across Denmark where a similar deposition pattern has been observed.

The topic of startup success is receiving more and more attention from scholars, although there are still no comprehensive studies on this topic. This study contributes to this research gap by collecting the studies of scholars from the Southeast Asia (SEA) region from the Scopus dataset from 2001-2020. This study focuses on solving problems related to the topic: overall volume, growth pattern, geographical distribution, the most important source (journals or conferences), authors and research groups (through number of published documents and citations), documents (through number of citations and number of citations per year) and topics (through frequency of keywords. Excel and VOS viewer tools are used to process the data and extract the maps.

The article considers the chemical composition and technique of applying the red enamel on the torque derived from the Havor type, originating from the cemetery of Kalinovo of Sambian-Natangian culture (Kaliningrad region). The torque dates back to the second half of I - second third of II c. AD. The enamel was produced using «Celtic» recipe with high copper and lead content. The composition of the enamel in this case is rather chronological than a culturally determining indication. However, its combination with the technique of enamelling (in the slotted recessing notches) gives grounds to search for the prototypes of this decoration among the samples of the Celtic enamel craft. The data on the chronology and technological tradition in which the torque was made, obtained on the basis of stylistic analysis and data on the enamel composition, well agree with the results of a comprehensive studies of this find.

Publications on Dutch literature about the Belgian Congo that have appeared to date are fragmentary and scattered across scholarly as well as cultural journals, collected volumes, and conference proceedings. There are practically no comprehensive studies on the history of Flemish colonial literature. Koloniseren om te beschaven. Het Nederlandstalige Congoproza van 1596 tot 1960, a recently released book by Luc Renders, aspires to redress this gap in research. Renders’ book can be considered the first as wide-ranging and detailed literary-historical exploration of pre-1960 colonial literature, which is presented against an extensive historical background. Crucially, Renders not only compiles the existing research on colonial writings in Dutch, but also contributes to it in an important way.

Formation by the Ukrainian state of a multi-vector mechanism of counteraction to organized groups and criminal organizations formed on an ethnic basis is impossible without understanding the essence of this problem, relevant statutory concepts and classification and separation of features of organized ethnic crime, which are important for law enforcement and the main effective factor in such activities is to guarantee the security of citizens and the integrity of the state from criminal encroachments of organized groups and criminal organizations that are formed on an ethnic basis. It is stated that today among domestic scientists there are no comprehensive studies of organized groups and criminal organizations, which are formed on an ethnic basis. At the same time, such comprehensive studies are absent in European and American. researchers. Although the latter have positive isolated changes in this area. The main attention and efforts of researchers are attracted to large-scale organized ethnic groups. Based on a comparative legal study of foreign experience in Asia, Africa and Australia in combating crimes committed by organized groups and criminal organizations formed on an ethnic basis, the possibilities of introducing positive foreign experience in the work of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine have been identified. It is noted that the importance of our scientific intelligence, first of all, is that in practice, law enforcement agencies engaged in combating organized groups and criminal organizations that are formed on an ethnic basis, had the opportunity to have an idea of this negative phenomenon. The article also emphasizes the peculiarities of collecting, analyzing, accumulating and storing information exchange for its convenient and effective use by law enforcement agencies of different countries in detecting, documenting and investigating crimes committed by organized groups and criminal organizations formed on an ethnic basis.

The results of comprehensive studies on the development of an innovative technology for microplasma spraying of catalytically active systems based on nickel –aluminum intermetallic compositions are presented. A batch of high-capacity chemical current sources based on these compositions with a mass energy level of up to 250 Wt h / kg has been manufactured and tested.
