Abstract
A wick trough system was developed which permits chromatographing in the horizontal, ascending, or descending position. This system will chromatograph large samples with good resolution in approximately 30 minutes. It was applied to a nonsaponifiable fraction of a feed extract containing vitamin A. The system satisfactorily separated xanthophyll, vitamin A, carotene, and the extraneous material.
Micro thin layer plates were adapted to the wick system. Trial runs with a dye mixture gave promising results.
