The living environment at the evacuation center is very important for ensuring the health, safety and security of the evacuees, but at present, preparations for providing a satisfactory living environment are not enough. In order to improve that, we have to consider various conditions, such as "ensure the lighting environment for the safe and secure and sleep," "toilet ensure," "ensure the thermal environment". In this study, we investigated the actual condition of glare in the nighttime lighting environment of evacuation center and examined the improvement method. Regarding the glare improvement method, the effectiveness of indirect lighting was shown based on the results of brightness distribution simulation with Radiance.

Street lighting ensures visibility and legibility for road users. In this paper, performances of the lighting installation of four road sections with different type of road surface are simulated in accordance with guidelines and road lighting standards. Then, the calculation of the visibility level of a target according to the Adrian’s model is included. Next, the light reflections on the road surface are added to the calculation of the target luminance. For this, the area considered in front of the target as well as the number of elementary surfaces are fixed and a Q_0-scaling of the r-table obtained for α=45° is performed. We compare the results obtained for each section with and without considering the light reflections and conclude that there is negligible incidence of the nature of the road surface on the target luminance. However, an effect of the road surface on the visibility level of the target is observed.

Nowadays, young people like Cafe more as a place for socializing than merely for eating. Its environment is made to comfort them through lighting design. This research aims to describe lighting distribution type from users choice of comfort while socializing in a café. The method is to ask 60 persons to choose the most comfortable lighting environment from five given illustrations based on a theory by ILO (1998) and Grondzik and Kwok (2010) theory. The result shows indirect lighting from wall and ceiling as the most preferred lighting distribution to support comfort while socializing.
