This study aims at identifying the effects of navigation structure in electronic courseware, and student self-regulation level on achievement in instructional design and satisfaction towards learning environment for undergraduate students. A quasi-experimental (3x3) factorial ANOVA design used to explore the main effects the independent variables. Two hundred nineteen respondents selected from third class undergraduate students in the faculty of education at Ablaba University. The respondents randomly assigned into one of three treatment groups varied in navigation structure. The treatment group used linear, hierarchical, and network navigation respectively. The tools consist of, achievement test, student's satisfaction scale, and self-regulation scale. The results showed that high-level self-regulated learners outperformed low-level self-regulated learners in achievement, and in satisfaction scale. There were no significant differences for the three treatments; the navigation structure employed in this study had no effect on participants’ learning and satisfaction. A significant interaction seen between leaning self-regulation skills and navigation structure. High-level self-regulated learners learn better from hierarchical navigation and less with linear navigation weak-level self-regulated learners learn better with linear navigation and weak with hierarchical. However, the network navigation structure mediate the two other navigation structure for all treatment group.

PurposeIn modern e-commerce and omnichannel management, consumers can utilize visual information delivered by augmented reality interactive technology (ARIT) to relate to products and view them worn on themselves. Accordingly, ARIT is increasingly common in online retail environments because this dynamicproduct imagery decreases the gap between online and offline shopping. On the basis of construal-level theory (CLT), this study not only examines the system characteristics that impact the perceived ease of use and usefulness of ARIT but also explores how these system characteristics can successfully affect online consumers to adopt ARIT in retail settings.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, ARIT is applied mainly in an online clothes fitting context. By conducting a task-based laboratory study, 344 valid samples were collected. Structure equation modeling (SEM) was employed for further analysis.FindingsNavigation structure, graphic style and information content were identified as the three system characteristics that affect perceived ease of use and usefulness of ARIT. Of the three characteristics, information content has the greatest impact on perceived ease of use and usefulness of ARIT. The study also found that navigation structure, graphic style and information content all shape ARIT system characteristics, and this explains and predicts the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use effect better than any original single system characteristic.Originality/valueInteractive marketing research indicates that the influence of immediately visualizing consumer–product matching effects creates excitement, arouses emotions and triggers curiosity to explore additional product purchase experiences. This study contributes to the present body of knowledge of the concept of ARIT systems. This is a pioneer research that uses CLT to act as a crucial psychological mechanism that dominates online fitting and apparel appraisal for consumers using ARIT. This study serves as a reference for designing and employing multisensory ARIT applications in interactive marketing to drive online sales.

This paper discusses the use of wiki technology to provide a navigation structure for the online version of the Mary MacQueen Scrap Book, which contains newspaper clippings about the Victorian artist. After outlining the architecture of the wiki, the navigation structure is discussed and several questions are posed: is the navigation structure an index? If so, what type? Or is it just a linkage structure or topic map? Does such a distinction really matter? Are these definitions in reality function-based?

Background The complexity of health care data and workflow presents challenges to the study of usability in electronic health records (EHRs). Display fragmentation refers to the distribution of relevant data across different screens or otherwise far apart, requiring complex navigation for the user’s workflow. Task and information fragmentation also contribute to cognitive burden. Objective This study aims to define and analyze some of the main sources of fragmentation in EHR user interfaces (UIs); discuss relevant theoretical, historical, and practical considerations; and use granular microanalytic methods and visualization techniques to help us understand the nature of fragmentation and opportunities for EHR optimization or redesign. Methods Sunburst visualizations capture the EHR navigation structure, showing levels and sublevels of the navigation tree, allowing calculation of a new measure, the Display Fragmentation Index. Time belt visualizations present the sequences of subtasks and allow calculation of proportion per instance, a measure that quantifies task fragmentation. These measures can be used separately or in conjunction to compare EHRs as well as tasks and subtasks in workflows and identify opportunities for reductions in steps and fragmentation. We present an example use of the methods for comparison of 2 different EHR interfaces (commercial and composable) in which subjects apprehend the same patient case. Results Screen transitions were substantially reduced for the composable interface (from 43 to 14), whereas clicks (including scrolling) remained similar. Conclusions These methods can aid in our understanding of UI needs under complex conditions and tasks to optimize EHR workflows and redesign.

Resumo: Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma proposta de aplicação da Teoria do Hipertexto (LANDOW, 1987, 1995, 1997, 2009), com base na literatura, ao campo do jornalismo. Essa proposta surgiu da identificação de adequação dessa Teoria aos estudos de jornalismo digital, a partir da análise feita de produtos jornalísticos digitais. Com forte inspiração na Teoria do Hipertexto, nossa proposta defini como características do hipertexto jornalístico a tipologia dos links, a multivocalidade e a estrutura de navegação. A intenção com este trabalho é contribuir para os estudos das especificidades das narrativas jornalísticas hipermídia. Abstract: This article aims to present a proposal of application of Hypertext Theory (LANDOW, 1987, 1995, 1997, 2009), based on the literature, to the field of Journalism . This proposal arose from the identification of adequacy of this Theory to the studies of digital journalism, from the analysis made of digital journalistic products. With a strong inspiration in the Hypertext Theory, our proposal defines the characteristics of journalistic hypertext as the type of links, the multivocality and the navigation structure. The intention with this paper is to contribute to the studies of the specificities of hypermedia journalistic narratives.

In developing this software the writer uses the Waterfall method. The navigation structure used is a mixture. Making code using the PHP programming language and to regulate the appearance of website design using CSS. Data collection using the method of observation and literature study. For testing the web the author uses the black box method. The results of this research are the formation of an online buying and selling website which can handle sales and online ordering.

Assessing quality of a web site is most important especially because people world over are dependent on the quality of the content hosted on the WEB site for various purposes. Every aspect that reflects the quality of the WEB site must be considered so that the WEB site is used by many relevant users and the content is straight away used for various purposes. The content is hosted on the WEB is accepted and used by the users without any doubt. Many factors are to be considered for assessing the quality of the WEB sites. There as many as 42 factors such as look and feel, ease of navigation, structure, quality of content, quality of mullti-media etc. that needs to be considered for assessing overall quality of a WEB site. “Completeness” is one such factor. Completeness is all about total availability of the data related to a specific context that the user is pursuing. An incomplete WEB site will be unused and eventually gets out of the ambit of search engines and also the users loose interest in such web sites. Every quality factor must be assessed independently by using a model and all the models of all the factors must be combined to reflect the overall quality of the WEB site. Every quality factors can be expressed in terms of some sub-factors, the quality of which must be individually computed and combined to arrive at quality value of the Factor. This paper is primarily focused on presenting a model using which the quality assessment of a web site can be made considering the factor called “Completeness” which is one of the factors that should be considered for computing the quality of the WEB sites. There can be much of the disconnected in the content hosted on the web site such as missing href, columns in the tables and forms. The more the disconnectedness in the content that is hosted on the WEB site, the less the quality, as the information hosted on the WEB site is incomplete and less connected.
