Abstract A four-way network with 45 deg output phase shifts for feeding antenna array is studied in this work. To widen the phase imbalance, quarter wavelength short stubs with suitable characteristic impedances are introduced and numerically analyzed. Meanwhile, the wideband magnitude imbalance is also discussed by extending the inter-stage transmission line with proper electric length. The study is further confirmed by developing a prototype feeding network centered at 3 GHz. Results from the fabricated prototype network exhibit wideband good performance, both from numerical evaluations and experimental demonstrations.

In this article it is presented that the characteristic semi – group of the direct sum and direct product “G” and “AG” of the asynchronous automatons of the strongly connected and determined analogs of their extensions are isomorphism. Taking into account that the characteristic semi – group determines the ability to process the information then the direct sum and direct product can be consider as realization – the sequence and parallel calculation accordingly. The obtained results mean that this ability doesn’t depend on the sequence and parallel realization (the same number of abstract class of the suitable characteristic semi- groups).

In 2011, Great East Japan Earthquake that is the largest earthquake ever observed occurred. The earthquake had large energy, huge tsunami, long duration time and many aftershocks. Devastated area needed retrieval and revival. However, when electric power was lost, the retrieval delayed. It is necessary to improve seismic proof construction for power plants. In this paper, authors proposed vibration control by adding dampers for coal-fired power plant and developed it. Fundamental analysis and component test of the damper were conducted. As the analytical results, characteristic of the damper was searched what kind of performance is more effective for the coal-fired power plants. In the component test, actual scaled prototype of the developed damper was produced and its performance was checked by loading test. As the test results, suitable characteristic of the damper was searched by the analysis. Finally, authors proposed two analytical methods of the developed damper.

Apricot seedlings are one of the most widely used rootstocks in apricot growing of Hungary. The National List of Hungary contains 7 apricot seedling rootstocks varieties. The production of apricot graft on seedling rootstock takes 3 years from the seed production to the complete graft and requires more space. It is important to provide the trueness to variety name during this process. In the genus Prunoideae not only the plant but also the stone should have typical characteristics. It seems to be useful to examine the morphology of stone. The observed varieties were 'Tengeribarack C.1300', 'Tengeribarack C.1301', 'Tengeribarack C.1650', 'Tengeribarack' C.1652', 'Tengeribarack C.145', 'Tengeribarack C.1426' and 'Tengeribarack C.2546`.1t seems to be the most suitable characteristic to make a distinction between these varieties by stone, the ratio height of stone to lateral width of stone, the ratio of height of stone to ventral width of stone, the ratio of lateral width of stone to ventral width of stone and the ratio of ventral zone to ventral width. From not measured characteristic seems to be most utilizable to make distinction: the fusion of dorsal groove margins, the shape of apex, the presence of a mucro of the apex, the shape of stalk end in lateral view and the texture of lateral surfaces.

Based on the unified strength criterion, a characteristic theory for solving the plastic plane stress and plane strain problems of an ideal rigid-plastic body is established in this paper, which can be adapted for a wide variety of materials. Through this new theory, a suitable characteristic method for material of interest can be obtained and the relations among different sorts of characteristic methods can be revealed. Those characteristic methods on the basis of different strength criteria, such as Tresca, von Mises, Mohr-Coulomb, twin shear (TS) and generalized twin shear (GTS), are the special cases (Tresca, Mohr-Coulomb, TS, and GTS) or linear approximation (von Mises) of the proposed theory. Moreover, a series of new characteristic methods can be easily derived from it. Using the proposed theory, the influence of yield criterion on the limit analysis is analyzed. Two examples are given to illustrate the application of this theory.

LetRbe a ringAbi-additive symmetric mappingd:R×R→Ris called a symmetric bi-derivation if, for any fixedy∈R, the mappingx→D(x,y)is a derivation. The purpose of this paper is to prove the following conjecture of Vukman.LetRbe a noncommutative prime ring with suitable characteristic restrictions, and letD:R×R→Randf:x→D(x,x)be a symmetric bi-derivation and its trace, respectively. Suppose thatfn(x)∈Z(R)for allx∈R, wherefk+1(x)=[fk(x),x]fork≥1andf1(x)=f(x), thenD=0.

AbstractThe period-amplitude relation and the period-energy relation for dwarf novae and novae are discussed. The total outbursts energy is shown to be a more suitable characteristic of the outburst than its amplitude.

Based on the earlier paper introducing a concept of the apparent parachor of a solute in the solution, we have eliminated in the present work algebraically the effect which is introduced into this quantity by the additivity of the apparent molal volumes. The difference remaining from the apparent parachor after substracting the contribution corresponding to the apparent volume ( for which the present authors suggest the name metachor) was evaluated from the experimental values of the surface tension of aqueous solutions for a set of 1,1-, 1,2- and 2,1-valent electrolytes. This difference showed to be independent of concentration up to the very high values of the order of units mol dm-3 but it was directly proportional to the number of the free charges (with a proportionality factor 5 ± 1 cm3 mol-1 identical for all studied electrolytes). The metachor can be, for this reason, a suitable characteristic for detection of the association of ions and formation of complexes in the solutions of electrolytes, up to high concentrations where other methods are failing.

In a previous paper, the author gave necessary and sufficient conditions for the algebra of a finite semigroup S over a field of suitable characteristic to be semisimple. When this algebra is semisimple, the matrix representations of S over are completely reducible.
