As part of the work, the piston path generated in the dynamic simulation in the Solidworks program was used to study the processes occurring during the combustion process. The simulation was carried out in the AVL Fire program for the same initial conditions. Different variants of the motor cam control were compared at the same compression ratio. In the analyzed article, the moment and period of time that the piston remains in the Upper Dead Location (TDC) were analyzed.

The main task discussed in this publication was to prepare a laboratory stand to investigate the confidentiality of information processed. The first part of the article presents a comparison of the possibilities of two open license programs - encryption tools that implement encryption with the use of AES block cipher. The second part describes the operation of two programs created in C++ for the needs of the laboratory workstation. The first one performs classic, changeable encryption, the second one uses XOR operation for encryption.

The paper presents the development of inter-branch transport based on the example of Gdansk Airport. It was characterized as the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway as one of the carriers in the forwarding-and-discharging system of this port. The forecasts for the development of transport by the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway Passengers using the Gdańsk Airport were determined.

The article presents the issues of ensuring the quality and safety of food products in road transport. The article discusses selected legal acts related to road transport of food, including the Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be Used for such Carriage (ATP) and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System (HACCP). The general characteristics of the entire process of transporting food products were presented and vehicles adapted to carry it out were discussed. Next, refrigerated semitrailers were described, as well as requirements for temperatures and vehicles in which the entire food supply process takes place. An analysis of statistical data on the transport of food products in Poland in the years 2008-2016 was also carried out.

The paper presents investigations concerning physico-chemical properties as well as a resistance to abrasion (abrasivity) of three-layer acrylic-polyester (renovation) coating systems after ageing with ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Generated by UV radiation photodestruction and photodegradation of examined coatings surface layers caused their chipping. This had an impact on progressive decline of the coatings thickness and hardness with the ageing time flow. UV ageing caused also almost twofold increase in surface roughness parameters Ra and Rz values. Surface roughness of the aged coatings increasing with the ageing time flow as well as their decreasing hardness contributed to their resistance to abrasion decrease, measured with the mass loss of abraded (using T-07 apparatus) coating material.

The article discusses the development directions of the then internal combustion engines used in automotive vehicles. The regulations in force regarding permissible emission of harmful and toxic compounds force the vehicle manufacturers to systematically reduce their mass and improve the ecological and economic parameters of engines in order to meet stringent requirements. Favorable application parameters are obtained through the use of downsizing strategies and rightsisers in the construction of motors. The article presents both conceptional concepts. The most important features of downsizing and rightsizing engines, their advantages and disadvantages were determined. There is also described the direction of further development of internal combustion engines, which is characterized by the use of both design strategies.

The article presents the results of measurements of exhaust emissions of commercial vehicle in real traffic conditions. The aim of this study was to determine how the driving style affects on the exhaust emissions from vehicle engine. The determinants were the measurements of the concentration of main toxic substances emitted to the atmosphere from the power unit of the tested vehicle. In the measurements a portable exhaust emission analyzer was used (PEMS type).

The article presents construction and assembly of designed special and modular handles. Handles for selected operations of lever machining and uniform body were analyzed. The work appoints costs of handles of the elements for the same type subjected to machining. The applied methodology can be used, inter alia, in the process of engineering education of technologists mechanics.
