Abstract Although emerging cells or animals based evidence supports an association between nuclear factor kappa-B1 (NF-κB1) cells and cancers, there has no pan-cancer analysis. Therefore, based on TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) and GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) data sets, we first studied the potential carcinogenic effect of NF-κB1 in 33 tumors. As we not only found high expression of NF-κB1 in most tumors, but also found that NF-κB1 expression is closely related to the prognosis of tumor patients. Enhanced phosphorylation of S893 was observed in several tumors, such as breast cancer, uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma or lung adenocarcinoma. In thymoma, NF-κB1 expression was relevant to CD8+ T-cell infiltration levels, and tumor-associated fibroblast infiltration has also seen in other tumors, such as uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma or glioblastoma multiforme. In addition, the functional mechanism of NF-κB1 also involves the related functions of protein processing and RNA metabolism. In this study, NF-κB1 was pan-cancer study in order to have a systematic and comprehensive understanding of the carcinogenic effect of NF-κB1 in different tumors.

In Bulgaria, there are no statistics on the attitude of the society to the topic of first aid and the extent and scale of the trained people. This fact gave rise to the need to prepare and conduct a study, the results of which will illustrate more about the topic. The aim of this study is to understand more on whether people are ready to provide first aid and what makes them feel confident/insecure to help in case of an accident or acute illness. The methods used are developing and testing a questionnaire, collecting qualitative and quantitative data through an online survey and evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of the collected data. The results show, that a very small part of the respondents has sustainable knowledge and skills in first aid, which leads to a reduced readiness to help the casualty. This is rooted not in the unwillingness to help, but in the low confidence in the training received. The lack of regular repetitive training increases people's feelings of insecurity, prevents them from acting when needed, leading to a number of large-scale complications such as increasing the burden on health care, in the form of additional costs for subsequent hospital stays/treatment. The data collected from the study will be used to develop suggestions for the implementation of innovative training programs to fill the gaps in preparing the population for first aid, and subsequently on the social and health well-being of society by increasing survival rate and respectively saving lives.

This paper studies how science centers and museums around the world have used mobile apps with museum guide characteristics and tries to identify the best interface design principles to improve their use as a tool for interaction with the public. For this purpose, we mapped mobile apps from science centers and museums and applied an evaluation tool for each one to identify good practices. This allowed us to produce guidelines for identifying good practices in the development of apps as a way of expanding visitors' experience in these institutions through these devices.

This study assessed the sensitivity of S. typhi to extracts of commonly used plants in treatment of typhoid in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. Ethnobotanical survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire. Powdered leaves of plants were extracted by maceration in distilled water. In vitro sensitivity of S. typhi to the extracts were assessed using agar well diffusion method. Groups of rats were infected orally with 0.5 McFarland suspension of S. typhi. Bacteremia in the animals was monitored by plating on Salmonella-Shigellar agar. Biochemical parameters were determined spectrophotometrically. Histological analysis was performed using H&E staining method.  S. typhi was sensitive only to P. guajava and A. indica leaf extracts. V. amygladina (90.31%) and C. papaya (92.26%) showed highest percentage inhibition of S. typhi comparable with ciprofloxacin (99.86%). Haematological parameters varied significantly (p<0.05) among the groups. Antioxidant status of rats, total protein, albumin and the corresponding globulin level increased significantly (p<0.05) in the groups treated with P. guajava and A. indica. C. papaya and C. citratus ameliorated the histopathological damages observed in the liver and intestine of S. typhi infected rats. The studied plants have direct activities against S. typhi, thus reflecting the reason for their combination in traditional system of medicine.

Disasters may have profound impacts on children and schools. We reviewed the evidence on schools and disasters, and analyzed these impacts across the four main emergency management (EM) phases. We reviewed 190 abstracts from 60 journals published between 2000 and 2019, using the definitions of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery from the National Research Council. Over 48 percent of articles fell within two or more phases, particularly when they addressed popular topics such as disaster risk reduction. School safety and mitigation efforts, curriculum development and awareness training around disaster risk reduction, and the importance of cross-sector collaborations and partnerships emerged as common themes, identifying opportunities for research and practice in the process. A natural next step could be the creation of a centralized online databank for schools and administrators who need access to resources such as survey and evaluation instruments, risk/threat assessment methodologies, cultural competency training modules, and other tool kits. Use of the EM phases increases the ability to exchange ideas and actionable approaches to EM research and policy practice for school-aged children.
