The recent developments in wireless technology have piqued academics' curiosity. Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANET) is a fast-growing networking architecture used in emergency, disaster, and tactical operations applications. It covers a wide range of applications with some degradation due to its flexible and expandable nature. Because routing is the primary function of wireless networks, routing protocol design is critical in Adhoc networks. Various methods have been used to improve the performance of current routing protocols in different categories. Technical advances in routing protocols have recently been achieved, combined with optimization approaches to improve the overall performance of MANETs routing protocols. This research initially looked at several sorts of routing protocols before going through their variations for energy economy and latency reduction. The previous protocols, which were created utilizing optimization methods, will then illustrate the current requirement. Finally, the review analysis delves into many aspects such as commonly used protocols, optimization techniques, QoS parameters, performance metrics, and future paths.

The swift evolution of communication network technologies brings the smart connected objects into existence. The objects or things are connected and able to communicate with each other through Internet of Things (IoT). Internet of Vehicle (IoV) are the subset of the IoT technologies that has been implemented to the vehicle. IoV is the evolution of traditional Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANETs) bringing new technologies to the smart connected vehicles. IoV network communication is purposedly to serve a real time data exchanged on roads between the vehicles and roads, vehicles and vehicles, vehicle and sensors, and vehicles and everything through different network technologies. There are significant differences between IoV, SDN-IoV and VANETs in term of network architecture, features, and applications that available. IoV and IoV-SDN is using different network framework giving different flexibility and scalability. In term of features and applications, IoV and IoV-SDN are having more wider and broad wireless connection technology in contrast with VANETs. In this survey paper, the survey will focus on the introduction to SDN, and differences of application and features in IoV, SDN-IoV and VANETs.

Abstract This paper discusses the problem of improving the efficiency of metric machine learning methods of identification attacks in vehicular adhoc networks (VANETs). The main idea of this research is to select the type of nonlinear functions for calculating the distances between the objects of the sample, describing the traffic of VANET using metric methods, such as the method of k-nearest neighbour with linearly decreasing weights and the Parzen window method. The analysis of the effectiveness of the methods considered was carried out on a synthetically generated sample with three different types of attacks on the network. Computational experiments have shown that the k-nearest neighbour method with decreasing weights based on an exponential function with base a < 1 is more efficient than the Parzen window method by about 0.3% and has an accuracy of 84.15%.
