The aim of the article is to draw attention to the necessity of creating conditions for linguistic development for students in all school subjects. The basis here is to define the language of schooling as a functional variety of language that is used in school contexts in communication between teachers and students, school textbooks and other educational materials. The article explains and illustrates with examples the basic features of the language of schooling that distinguish it from the language of communication. Support for targeted activities aimed at developing the linguistic competence of students in spoken and written form are also provided by the core curriculum for all subjects, as shown on the example of biology and physics as a school subject.

This study aimed to study quality of theses of master education program in teaching science and mathematics, Mahasarakham University, Thailand which conducted and published during 2016-2019. A 37 theses were studied through systematic approach. Data were collected by 24 questionnaires of theses analysis anecdotal. Mean, standard deviation, and percentage were employed. Results showed that most of thesis focus on action research due to the school contexts. Teaching strategies or innovation which employed are problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, STEM education and other trending approaches. All of informants or samples are studying in high school level. Overall of quality of thesis can be considered in at good level. The finding is useful for program development and shaping research area for graduate students in the future.

Learning through the medium of a second or additional language is becoming very common in different parts of the world because of the increasing use of English as the language of instruction and the mobility of populations. This situation demands a specific approach that considers multilingualism as its core. Pedagogical translanguaging is a theoretical and instructional approach that aims at improving language and content competences in school contexts by using resources from the learner's whole linguistic repertoire. Pedagogical translanguaging is learner-centred and endorses the support and development of all the languages used by learners. It fosters the development of metalinguistic awareness by softening of boundaries between languages when learning languages and content. This Element looks at the way pedagogical translanguaging can be applied in language and content classes and how it can be valuable for the protection and promotion of minority languages. We used descriptive statistics and a logistic regression to examine between-school inequalities in science and math curricular offerings in Year 12 (final year) in all schools in one Australian state (Victoria). Dataset contains variables about school contexts: school enrolment size, school socioeconomic composition, school sector, and school location.
