Abstract Indigenous knowledge on medicinal plants and practices is outdistancing and vulnerable to loss if not properly documented. A survey on medicinal plants and their practices was carried in the Myagdi district. Around 40 tribal people from four different villages were interviewed using a semi-structured questionnaire. Documentation of the indigenous knowledge was done in written form and the pictures of available medicinal plants were taken. The study showed that 93.51% of the respondent has used medicinal plants and 87.20% found them effective in curing several diseases and injuries. They are commonly used to cure diseases like bone fractures, abdominal pain, fever, common cold, dysentery, eye opacity, scabies, worm infection, reproductive problems, mental disorder, and cardiovascular problems. As reported, with access to modern pharmaceuticals, the use of medicinal plants has been less practiced these days. The knowledge on medicinal plants and practices are restricted to older-aged groups of the community (76.32%) reflecting that valuable indigenous knowledge is on the wane. This study portrays the commonly used medicinal plants along with their preparation techniques practiced in the study area.

The present study deals with the strategies used in the Arabic translations of the most popular genres of children’s literature; namely fairy tales and fables as an attempt to identify the best methods and strategies to be adopted in translating these genres to fulfill the ultimate purpose of enriching the children’s knowledge in addition to attracting their interest and arousing the joy sought for in every piece of literature. The study sets off from three dominating trends: the first calls for the adoption of domestication strategy of translation as the most appropriate and effective strategy in translation for children. In the same line, the second opposes using the foreignization strategy, while the third trend advocates for the joint employment of various strategies to fulfill certain requirements and needs that would be called upon within the context such as didactic purposes. Throughout the process of examining and verifying the theses of these trends, samples of translations of the genres are chosen based on the most popular and well known fairy tales and fables either circulated in written form or televised as movies or cartoons; namely Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales and Aesop’s Fables. These samples are subjected to translation quality assessment to come out with a quality statement to highlight their merits and demerits. The receptors’ (children) impact is also sought via conducting a field study that has been designed for children of two age groups defined by specialized scholars as intended receptors of the genre

AbstractTasting events are a typical example of a tourism experience that utilizes alcohol. However, it has not been sufficiently demonstrated how the prior information given to customers at tasting events affects their perception of the tasting and its marketing effects. In this study, we conducted a tasting experiment of a new Japanese sake product in California, the USA to clarify how information given to participants in advance can affect their perception of the tasting, satisfaction, and word-of-mouth intention related to the new sake product, and compared the effects of the following types of prior information: 1) no information, 2) written information, 3) video explained by a man, and 4) video explained by a woman. The results show that presenting information makes a difference in its impact as opposed to providing no information. When prior information was presented in written form, various perspectives significantly influenced the satisfaction and recommended intention more than in the cases of video. On the other hand, in the cases of video, the number of significant paths was reduced, but the influence on word-of-mouth intention was greater than in the case of written information. This study contributes to the development of a theory and empirical evidence that takes into account prior information in tasting marketing in tourism.

The paper attempts to explore the concept of numeronyms, which, in the literature of the subject, are perceived as numeral-based words. Its principal aim is to contribute to the existing discussion about numeronymy by offering a fresh perspective, concentrated on the raison d'être of numeronyms, i.e., numerical figures incorporated within. The analysis concerns particular examples of numeronyms, as featured in the “Netlingo Dictionary of Texting Terms & Online Acronyms”. This source comprises a list of acronyms and shorthands derived from two language varieties: textspeak and online slang. Specifically, subject to the analysis are those terms that, in their written form, contain numerical figures. The corpus of 200 numeronyms is scrutinised with respect to two factors, namely, the function the numeral performs in the numeronym, as well as the possible patterns regarding the distribution of particular numerals. The research, both quantitative and qualitative in nature, reveals four distinct functions of numerals within numeronyms: homophonic, conceptual, typographic and quantifying. Only the last group can be claimed to follow the function normally attributed to numerals, i.e., quantity property assignment. In turn, the distributionoriented analysis brings to light the conclusion that certain numerals that point to number words possessing homophonic properties feature in numeronyms more prominently than others.

The author is interested in researching the practice of the marriage contract with the bride and groom who have limitations in pronouncing the contract (impaired), from practice in the field it is often the case that the marriage contract of the non-verbal bride is carried out by a representative but without a clear power of attorney, it is not entirely wrong. Because sometimes both parties believe that there will be no dispute in the appointment of representatives. The bride and groom base the implementation of their marriage contract on the encouragement of the community, clerics, customs, and indeed an agreement between the two parties. The approach method used in this paper is a juridical-normative approach in the study of fiqh. A juridical approach by examining legal rules and a normative approach in the study of fiqh is used in analyzing problems that occur in society. For provisions that require the granting of power in writing, basically it is not stipulated in the book of fiqh. In fact, fiqh explicitly stipulates that it can be in the form of words (عبارة) or in written form. There is nothing wrong with the provisions stipulated by the Compilation of Islamic Law, which are promulgated, following the rules of al-maslahah al-mursalah which have been explained or the concept in the book of Bughyah al-Mustarsyidn which says that government decrees which are not forbidden by the Shari'a must be obeyed physically and mentally. If it is against the Shari'a, such as obliging something that is haram, then it is enough to obey outwardly. In article 17 paragraph (3) of the KHI which reads "For the prospective bride and groom who suffers from speech impairment or deafness, consent can be stated in writing or signs that can be understood," so without a power of attorney there is nothing wrong or allowed. What is clear is that the marriage is still valid, the KUA does not require the speech-impaired bride and groom to make or show a power of attorney.

Hadith is the second source in Islamic Law. As from the Start MUHAMMAD (SAW) forbid the companion to write Hadith but after some time the Holy Prophet gives permission. From the Start of giving protection to Hadith or Quran basically, we are seeing two types of methods one is to memories and the second one is in written form. After Companion, their followers have spread to different locations. In these locations, Kufa played a Vitol role . Followers of this area were taking a keen interest in this subject. For this purpose they make all the necessary arrangements for example build Madrassa and wrote the Hadith according to the rules of narrating (riwaya) and deep comprehension (diraya) of Prophetic statements. In this Research article, we will describe shortly the editing services of the followers of center Kufa. How they have followed the rules and what are their efforts in this subject.
